Not sure if a thread has been started, but here is my tinkering using the Eventide H9-Max:
Posted the other day on a separate thread but I made this during lockdown: https://soundcloud.com/ryuss-form/stars-in-a-blank-sky-swallowed/s-42CXCEdPO1I
No guitar but I tried to make something with spitfire
I never expected anything so laid back on this site... same goes for Empryean. Both good, but completely non-7-string riffing!
Separate thread as well, but here you go. Instrumental pop/rock/metal songs influenced by Vai/Satch/Yngwie/etc
Another short piece... only 6.5 minutes. Guitar instrumental with no drums or bass
Some new riffs for my project, posted in separate thread as well:
Really dig your style with the pulloffs on some of the notes, i'm getting maiden vibes!
man... I strive to be able to write drums for riffs like this. I always end up with some kind of 4/4 that just sounds waaay off
I almost always tend to struggle with drums when I'm writing but this one just flew out of me and it's so fresh that I'm obsessed with it.
Posted this elsewhere but I did this:
I dunno if it's cheating to include something that was started before the lockdown, but it was definitely finished within that time:
Wasn't gonna share this here since I don't see anyone giving a shit on a metal forum...
....but I grew up on John Prine, and his death from COVID-19 hit me pretty hard. I've been too fucking busy at work to really focus on writing any of my own mysic, but part of my coming to terms with his loss ended up being working out the vocal lines to Angel from Montgomery and recording an instrumental cover:
No gain (Mark-V, Clean mode, gain cranked, which with singlecoils just gives you some fatness and a hair of grit), no shred, just the song fairly true to life. I originally planned on sticking in a solo and finishing with the gain up, but when I went through and recorded this backing, it just didn't feel right, so I cut it out.
Always loved this song... Can't imagine someone actually sitting down and writing this. "I am an old woman... Named after my mother... My old man was another, child who's grown old. If dreams were lightning.. And thunder were desire... this old house woulda burnt down, a long time ago..."
Very nice John Prine is a legend. Hard to follow something like that.
Here’s some heavy stuff I did while being at home:

Fuck it, I'm posting my punk song. Haven't written one of those in a while.
Going against the grain here. Layered in rhythm and lead guitars for added effect.
Some tunes ive worked on in lock down, you can hear the vibes im getting from everything
I dig your style man. What gear are you using?
Schecter Blackjack C-1 FR Nazgul & Sentient
Fortin Nameless with Coffee & 5150 cab
Superior Drummer 3
Working with a Hellraiser Hybrid with Sustainiac, Floyd Rose... it has a Blackjack neck. Lead is great... rhythm was annoying me until I used a string mute (Gruv Gear FretWrap).
Yeah i had the same problem & i tune to G#, i just used velcro to get rid of the noise on the top & the Floyd
