I had no clue this existed, just gave it a quick listen on bandcamp and yep it's so much better.

END - Splinters from an Ever Changing Face
    Rina Sawayama - Sawayama
    Moses Sumney - Grae
Umbra Vitae - Shadow of Life
Ulcerate - Stare into Death and Be Still
    Run the Jewels - RTJ4
    Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher
Tom Misch/Yussef Dayes - Night Rider

I dug Palimpsest by PTH as well, not sure if it's going to stay with me more than a few weeks, however. Excited for new Tigran Hamasyan, The Ocean, and Gaerea in the near future.

So I'm pretty sure the new The Ocean track is the best thing I've heard in 2020 thus far. Holy shit.

Most of the post-The Gathering material hasn't done too much me, but I dig Titans.

Yeah this year brought some heat for sure. So far...barely at the halfway point, I've got:

    • The Ghost Inside - Self Titled - I'm a TGI Stan, what can I say.
    • Loathe - I Let It In And It Took Everything - What an unbelievable release- if this disc doesn't win some kind of award this year I'm gunna be upset
    • Make Them Suffer - How to Survive a Funeral - Never really was into MTS, but they really brought their A game for this album and it shows.
    • Protest The Hero - Palimpsest - Incredible return to form, a decade later and we still get to see Protest at their finest.
    • End - Splinters from an Ever-Changing Face - End has never released a bad song, change my mind.
    • Currents - The Way It Ends - Doesn't have the individual stand-out tracks that The Place I Feel Safest had, but every track is solid and it really feels like a cohesive album.
And we're still getting new Alpha Wolf, Misery Signals(!!!), and Good Tiger- and that's just off the top of my head.

Lot of good records in the first half of 2020. At least one thing about this year isn't dog shit lol.

    These are also really good:
Thundercat - It Is What It Is
    Unmerciful - Wrath Encompassed
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit: Reunions

The new Igorrr album was alright too, just not really my cup of tea.

Just pre-ordered the new Pain of Salvation album. First single was pretty dope.

I'm in the same boat re the comment about 2019 being hard to top. There was so much good shit. Nevertheless, so far:

Justice For The Damned - Pain Is Power
Trivium - What The Dead Men Say

And that's actually it, those are the only two that have had more than a single spin through.

Posted it in my list earlier, but just found some playthroughs today and thought maybe it will entice a few people to listen. This is the most unique/fun slam (with a nice touch of tech) record I've heard in years. It's been on repeat all year.

Wormhole - The Weakest Among Us

Yeah same here. Really helps that album out big time. Been running Morbid Angel non-stop, for tone hunting and song learning.

There are a bunch of good ones this year but to echo others sentiments 2019 will not be topped. But so far a few bands I’m spinning often:
    Morbid Angel
    Bolt Thrower
    Cannibal Corpse
    Nocturnus
    Blood Incantation
    Tomb Mold
    Vitriol
Every HM-2 band, new and old

    New:
    Ulcerate
    Voidceremony
    Exhumed/Gruesome split
    200 Stab Wounds
    Necrot
    Ulthar
    Pale Divine
    The Black Dahlia Murder
    Katatonia
Death - the Relapse live releases
    Sedimentum
    Conjureth
    Enslaved
    Joe Satriani
    Pearl Jam

Basically all 20 Buck Spin releases too. There’s a pretty good list of upcoming releases too, but we kinda have a thread for that!
