I was bored last night so I started reading this thread from the beginning and all I can say is wow. The folks that were blindly taking his side no matter what evidence was available is just a mind fuck for me.

Wonder how all of his devout fans/followers feel 9 years later
Still better than JRR Martin.

Well, I'm glad Jari has done something productive. If destroying a classic Metallica song is considered productive. God damn that's terrible sounding. And I say that as a dude that keeps around an 8 string tuned down to C right above the common 5-string bass B. Some songs just don't work tuned down.

I was going to make some snarky joke about 'being your own boss' being code for unemployed, but then I listened to the video and maaaaan that song does not sound good tuned that low.
It's a code for having a company by yourself in a creative industry where working schedules are somewhat broad in a bigger scale, or there is not precise time windows for writing an album at all.

Seems that some people really think working on four albums at the same time isn't creative, and this is all what he does nowadays.

Maybe if he worked on one at time he would finish something. I hope he sees this, though.

That is one horrible sounding clip right there. Damn. The song doesn't work at all when tuned that low and the sound is just terrible. I mean really terrible. Ears bleed terrible.

Next year will be the 10 year anniversary of this thread, and it's almost 20 since the self titled, and this album still isn't out.

Don't be fooled though, while Jari is doing covers of bands and going through guitar endorsements with every brand known to man, he's actually well at work on 4 albums.

You think he'd play the intro riff of "Land Of Snow And Sorrow" or a similar Wintersun riff thats wrote with a low tuning in mind.

That also answers the question was he still he a Solar artist.

"Nothing matters except a finished song" is a quote thats repeated a lot in recent years with how much musicians can let the world know they are working on music.

I love the 4 albums argument as a way to somehow imply he keeps busy with productive writing and recording sessions.

"Man, you haven't released anything in ages."
"Oh, I've been working in 7.25 albums at once."
"Looking forward to hearing that in 23 years."

This wouldn't bother me in the slightest were it not for this fine upstanding citizen having supposedly amassed more than enough from crowd funding to solve the one true obstacle the baddies from the label have placed on his way, because they are just nasty like that and don't really have any kind of wish to recoup their investment in any way. I have no horse in this race in spite of how much I love the guy's work, but this is honestly absolutely ridiculous and I'm not even a bit surprised every single post of his on social media quickly devolves into a meme dump.

Jari reminds me of a friend I used to have. He created a few decent things a long time ago, but it basically an unproductive deadbeat now that can no longer finish anything he’s started (including school for audio engineering). He is broke af, but his parents buy him all the expensive gear he allegedly needs.

There's a lot of music out there that I think is, despite the artist's best efforts, just rubbish, horribly conceived, horribly written, horribly played, horribly recorded, and horribly produced. But I can admire the fact that they had a creative idea and saw it to fruition, because I'm horribly procrastinating myself. Getting it out there is the main thing that matters.

As far as I'm concerned, I enjoy all three Wintersun albums immensely. If he doesn't feel like he's in a position to release something in its best state, then that's fine. I wouldn't want to listen to shitty Wintersun just because I want something released - there's plenty of shit to fill that void. We have three albums, and that's it. There's nothing else until there's a fourth in your metaphorical hands.
