    So, I have a TS9DX TubeScreamer. It's basically a TS9 with an extra knob.

So, the pedal now will go into "turbo mode" on its own until I wiggle the Mode knob for a bit, so I know that that knob is the culprit. And in the 5 years I've owned this pedal, I used the turbo mode once. Can I just de-solder the knob for the modes on the pedal, just taking it out of the circuit, and have a regular 3-knob TS9? Or will it default to turbo mode or something when I take out the switch?

Thanks for any help!! Hope this is the right forum...

Should be able to de-solder the mode you want and connect it directly to the wire that is the output of the knob (or input depending on how exactly the circuit is set up. If the pot is attached directly to a circuit board it might not be possible.
