If you're open to other suggestions, there are many more guitars out there in that price range that are worth it over both of those. Otherwise, if you had to choose between those two, the Ibanez would probably win in my opinion.

I am partial to Ibanez, plus I am in a maple fretboard phase right now. Aesthetically, I prefer the Ibanez over the Jackson in the pictures, since the Jackson's lower horn looks a little more elongated than I prefer.

I dislike both almost equally, but I wouldn't bother with any ibanez tbh, or Fender 2.0. You can do better.
That Solar A2.7 sounds like a good Idea.

Knowing I'm the minority, what the hell do you like about Ibanez?
Most of the are fugly and overpriced Imo.
I cannot stand their necks, but that's a preference, cannot really fault one if he\she is into that,
    otherwise wtf???

You seem strangely angry towards Ibanez...

I've played both. they're ok/fine and might need some minor setup work (nut filing/action adjustment/dressing fret ends). Specs wise I prefer the ibby (I love maple fretboards and obnoxious colors), but ymmv. try both if you can, or order them from a place with a good return policy so you can try both.

Well if you can still find one of the Mishas in that finish they are going for like $499. They can be very hit or miss, but if you get a good one they are great guitars for the money.

Definitely not a fender fan here.
I haven't played many Ibanez guitars, but those that I did (various priceranges), are just ok.
I dislike ultra thin necks, that's one thing, but the rest of the package seems as good as any superstrat more often than not. I've lurking in this forum for years, thus the question.
    I'm genuinely curious.

I forgot all about Solar I am going to check those out as well. I appreciate all the feedback and looked some more and it looks like the Jackson has abysmal quality control issues. But I am open to more suggestions as well.

I almost picked up the RGDIR7 myself before finding a Schecter V-7. The Jackson looks great too, but prefer the control layout of the RGDIR7.

I love the Ibanez necks so this is purely a personal preference. I've owned Jacksons (6-strings) before but they just didn't appeal to me. Actually, the Solar is a good option. I'm gassing for one.

The Ibanez for me. Better neck profile (for me), love the maple board and it's got a way cooler
look and vibe to it including the headstock.

Ibanez. Dig the color and maple board. The top and fade on the Jackson looks cheap imo

The Ibanez has a rather high position for the switch selector, if you are ok (and do not strike it with your pick) with that then its a matter of taste as the necks are not identical. Play them first.
