Plan to take it to someone to do it for me but I need a 500k pot for my Schecter Omen 8 fitted with a D-Activator 8. There are a lot of different ones and I'm just wondering which one I should get. Thanksss!

Considering we're on a guitar forum, I don't think so xD

I agree. No musicians smoke pot, so it's very obvious that it would either be about tone/volume pots, or pots for cooking. :D

As far as the guitar related ones go, I've never noticed a difference between Dimarzio, CTS, etc... if they're all 500k. As long as it fits in the hole (that's what she said), fits in the control cavity and the knob fits on it... I can't tell them apart.

Thx. I have no idea how to tell if it will fit. That's part of why I made this thread :(

    And I don't smoke at all:2c:

To OP, as long as the pot fits, it works. There are really no difference between manufacturers, so you can go with any company you want.

Tonewise I honestly can't tell the difference between Alpha, CTS, Bourns, the fancy schmancy BKP rebranded CTS pots, etc... but they do feel different. Try the Seymour Duncan rebranded Bourns pots... they'll make you want to play with your knobs.

I'm all about finding quality cheap parts - but something to consider, nothing makes a guitar feel cheap like some scratchy pots.

Sorry, couldn't resist posting this

This guy actually tries to demonstrates how the same pot value but different brands alters the sound of his guitar!!!!!!!!!!

Guess, he already knows all the modes and chords so that's the only thing left to improved teh guitar skills. :noplease:
