Yesterday was my birthday and I came into a little cash. I currently own EZDrummer and now I want to grab a metal kit + some samples. BUT THERE ARE OPTIONS. And because I know nothing about this, I'd figured I'd ask the forum. So, Sevenstring.org, how should I spend my birthday cash? Should I also upgrade to EZDrummer 2.0 while I'm at it? Is it worth it? Please, help my indecisive self out. Which one of the multitude of metal drum packs is worth my cash? Thanks guys
I recently bought the metal machine pack and am very pleased with it. I haven't tried the others though. Also, I'm sure you know but all the EZX expansions are 50% off on sweetwater until 5/31.
Metal Machine for sure, they sound great, even right out the box. Also comes with some more than decent midi loops!
+1 here for Metal Machine. Needs the least amount of processing out of any of the EZXs since the samples are so polished already. With the samples being so polished already, individual track compression just kills the sample quality. On the other hand, buss compression keeps the samples fresh and reinforces the punchiness excellently with this EZX.
Really? I find the toms completely unusable without some pretty heavy compression/gating/transientshaping/whatever to get rid of that massive DONNNGGGGGGGGGGGG. Everything else in there is pretty mix-ready though.
I'm in love with Metal Machine and would really recommend it. If a noob like me can make it sounds nice, then anyone can.
Have any of you guys tried out EZ 2.0? I'm wondering, as a song writer, if it's worth the investment. It seems really easy to use from all the videos I've seen. Anything to get away from Reaper's piano roll...
It seems like it's really worth to me. I've been trying to make a similar choice in the last two hours or so. If you get a metal one and an expansion pack, you should be adventurous and get the Latin Percussion pack.
Drum Kit From Hell.... jk Metal Machine is my favorite, although I personally use avatar from superior more now.
