Which amp(s) you'd like to see again (as reissue perhaps)?

Mako Dorado and Mak4x Preamp

If anyone knows of either for sale, I'd pay a finders fee if it leads to a sale. I never learned why Andrew shut Mako down or if it was even voluntary. From what I remember he was making a 4X Preamp with a (now rudimentary) screen that was never released; always hoped it'd see the light of day.

The Peavey XXX II is the same amp as the JSX, just with a different (and better IMO) faceplate. They couldn't keep making the "JSX" after Satriani left Peavey, but they owned the circuit and continued producing it under a new model name, just like how the 5150 became the 6505 after Eddie left.

Not to mention the Dual Terror... However, the OG TT is just so charming! Also legendary and it just sounds great!

If they redesigned the tiny terror with bigger tubes ala dsl20h, and gave it a three band EQ, I personally think it would sell like hot cakes. Or they could just release a new OR50 with power scaling.

With doom, stoner, and post metal being decently big these days, I'm surprised that Fender hasn't revived the Sunn brand. A new Model T and Beta seriess seems like it'd do really well. As well as an official preamp pedal of the Beta.

TBF, you can order super high quality versions of the Oranges from Matamp, and you can order super high quality versions of the Sunn stuff from a number of places. The prices are high-ish, but I'd expect a reissue would either skimp-out and suck, or cost similarly high ($3k+).

After I posted, this is actually the brand I thought of. I always wanted to try a Dorado and I've always regretted not buying the Mak4 when it first came out. I think they were like $800 (?) and I remember thinking, "That's too much for a preamp!" Not many of them seem to have been made since they're super rare on the used market, this a rerelease here would make sense. Wonder what ever happened to them?

Another good one. I remember the Snot Watt being all the rage for a while and then they just fell off. I was never super interested in their amps but I know a lot of people loved them and they're not too common on the used market, either. Wonder what happened to them, as well?



I also always wanted a Titan. I'll throw that in for one I'd like to see reissued, though I know the owner is supposedly a con artist, so maybe not with him in charge LOL!

The problem with all these newer boutique brands for me is, all the cool ones for 10-15 years ago had so much hype around them because they were one man shops releasing amps that sounded awesome for relatively reasonable prices. Now boutique brands go straight to the $3k+ range and that makes me super hesitant to buy one of them vs more established brands. The first one I remember doing this was Rhoades. I remember people raving about Kyle's amps early on, but they were priced at like $2200-2500 which back then was a lot for high gain amps. Most of the big brands didn't even make amps that expensive and the only ones that did were that much because they were imported and not because they were ACTUALLY that much (ie: Diezel).

That Russian dude who makes all those amp clone plugins made a Baron plugin and besides it being a noisy beast, it sounded fucking rad and always made me interested in trying the real thing

Yep they're the one. There's another one out there but I forgot the brand. Fluff did a demo of it

I'm thinking a bit differently. There are so many amps nowadays, covering so much ground. So with the shift to modelers, it's time to bring these bad boys back.

Another vote for the Peavey Classic poweramps. I had the 50/50 stereo and 120 mono models and both were built like tanks. The 120 being my favourite and pretty much the same power section as most 120 watt Hi Gain Peavey amps
