So in the spirit of that "other" thread, so what's your "ridiculous, makes no sense but you don't care, totally baseless" reason for liking a piece of gear/manuacturer/music company.

    I'll start:

I like Line 6. Yes, they lost their lead in the modeling war, and yes some of their amps can be compared to toys now, and yes I no longer use their stuff.....

But you know what .....I really like that signature RED/maroon color they use in their logo ....., and I still have to mug they gave me back in their Pod 1.0 days
    :lub:

Dimarzio: because their pickups are just ok, but their straplocks are amazing.

    Your turn.

I tend to gravitate toward brands that not a lot of people use. Carvin, Madison, and Agile are some of the brands I've been interested in for no other reason than their "underground" status.

Schecter. I love them for tons of reasons, but i kinda like them cause they're the anti-ibanez.

I like Peavey..just because. They sound good and I just don't see why I should spend lots of money on a "high end" amp when I can be satisfied with one that cost me a few hundred instead of a few grand.

Ibanez, because living in Europe and ordering an Agile is like russian roulette

(and Jackson, or any other available brands do nothing for me)

MESA, because it makes you look rich even you bought it 28th hand for cheap.

B-52... Not crazy about their heads, but I love their AT-412 cabinet since it sounds good, it's pretty light and dirt cheap.

Schecter... I like their neck profiles, makes the guitars feel more substantial than Ibanez necks.

ESP Guitars M-207's I find them comfortable.
Peavey Amps XXX don't see why you possibily have to put yourself indebt to sound good.
Hartke Cabs even though they stopped making them and I seem to be the only person on here that uses them, they are made a little better than Marshall's 1960's (taken apart one and compared at the music store I used to frequent back in DE also I guy did this on H/C reviews, his was a 05 mine was a 08.)

    ^this also.

But to get that true 2x4 feeling.. play an intrepid. Staring at that fretboard feels like your playing a 2x4 with a really thin neck

Haha, this makes sense to me, but unfortunately most of the posters here are American, where Mesas are comparitavely cheap, against, say, Engl. I fell into the trap of buying a Triple Rec. cos they were "The Cool Amp" to have over here, not even kind of worth the money for me.

Well, i bought a studio preamp and 20:20 PA and I just can say this is good stuff. I'm all about vintage stuff and sound, not a fan of overproduced neo sounds or the like.
The studio pre was a hell to figure out with all the interactive controls but was well worth the time spent.
That said, yes Engl is cheaper than Mesa for us europeans. New prices for Mesa are just ridiculous.

ESP guitars. They have the best looking headstock.

    MESA 412. They are bigger.

    Interesting thread.

I like bareknuckles because it's an English brand and they have fancy pickup coverings (yes, only for 6ers for now) - even though I'm yet to play one

I also like Peavey for the reasons Drakkar stated above.
