For those not gigging or playing in bands. What do you do daily/weekly when you play your guitar. What does your routine look like?

For me its
- warm up my fingers by doing some of the excercises with a metronome from john petrucci rock discipline video for 10min
- look up the tab of 2 songs i like to learn and play with the original recording 30min
- try and make 2 riffs and record it - 20min

Thats all i do when i have 1hr to play guitar a week.

When I go to feed the fish I'll sometimes pick it up and rip it for about 30-45 seconds. Sometimes when I'm walking by that room I'll walk in and rip it for 3 or 5 minutes. Other times I'll just walk in there and rip it.

Honestly- The guitars here just sit in stands around my apartment, so when I feel like playing, I just pick it up and noodle. There's no structure or routine, it's just there. I try to keep one amp always available / plugged in so that I don't have to spent a bunch of time setting things up just to play.

Strategically place guitars around the house. Try to remember that riff I was playing the other day. Fail. Back to drinking beer!

No routine. Dont really care when or what I play. So long as my desire to play lines up with the time to do so Im usually fine.

What have you gotten out of your last 4 threads @vejichan ?

1. Warmup right hand with palm muting stuff
2. Scale sequences for diatonic and pentatonic in various keys across the fretboard
3. Chord review and learn new chords
4. Review songs and learn new ones
5. Technique practice: legato, tapping, vibrato, bends
6. Advanced stuff learning sweep arpeggios, sweep picking, etc

My teacher gave me this practice guide to be laser focused and not waste time.
