What Kinds of Things About a Cab Makes it Good or Bad (on paper)

    In my limited experience with cabs, to my ear, there really isn't an appreciable difference in "feel" with different cabinet sizes until you compare a 1x12 (even an "oversized" one) to a 2x12.

    I like midrangey tighter low end speakers in slightly oversized cabs. If you look at Mesa Recto 2x12, it's a deep dimensioned cab. The cab dimensions are why it sounds fantastic/balanced with full (but pretty controlled) lows. I use Legend V12s in a slighly oversized 2x12 (Orange-based Emperor cab) and love it. Same speakers sounded boxy overly tight low end in a smaller (Krank) 1x12.
