I probably shouldn't be photoshopping greens because maybe that's an impossible expectation, but daaaamn

Oooooh... add green pickups and that would be amazing

Been eyeing a Peavey Wolfgang USA but I think the pickups were swapped as the zebra bobbins aren't the right way.

You know there's a new MIJ EVH Wolfgang series. It will prob cost less than that Peavey too. Just saying...

That gorgeous NJ warlock on reverb is calling my name and the seller is willing to negotiate. It's expensive and I don't have the cash or space to buy it straight up. I'm debating selling my Ormsby to get about 2/3rds of the cash but I'm not sure how quick it would go or if I even want to sell it because I love the thing.

The warlock is just one of my dream guitars, perfect in every way minus the dot inlays which I don't even mind. However, the Ormsby isn't in 100% perfect condition and has a pickup swap I did myself, plus it plays really well and feels great. My issue right now is that it's not the perfect tool for the job, and is too short and too unbalanced to be a super low tuned stage guitar. I feel like the warlock would give me a guitar good for rock sounds and good cleans as well as be more comfortable.

If anyone has an opinion, I'd be really grateful, since these things are so rare. It's expensive but they literally never come up and it's a beautiful guitar I've wanted for ages. I just don't know if it's worth my Ormsby.

Yep. It's also not the same guitar. If I was after close enough I'd grab another Axis (which is still on the list as I want one with a birdseye board).

You're welcome.

I'm torn between that one and this...

I actually just sent back one of the purple BFRs last week... was a shame as it was gorgeous but they shipped it before the finish had finished curing so there were marks on the bottom of the top, the bottom side, and the back where the case pressed against it embedded in the finish.

I could have probably buffed them out, but who wants to take a chance on a new expensive guitar like that :2c:

ditching a guitar you know you like for another guitar has never worked out well for me. I made the mistake of selling a powder blue vader 8 that sounded monstrous so I could buy a more aesthetically pleasing 8 string. It's one of the few 8 strings I've owned that I would buy back in a heartbeat.
I wouldn't do it personally.

Kali Audio UNF. I need a new pair of monitor to supplement it with my VSX. And the perk being that now i dont have to try to buy a 2x12 and an amp to also do guitars too

Yeah that's a smart take. I dropped the guy what I can give him up front without the sale but 99% he doesn't bite. If he does, it's meant to be, and I have other gear I can offload to front the cost a little bit. What did you end up getting after that sale?

I think I sold the powder blue 8 for another vader 8 with a ziricote top and mahogany body. I ended up selling that one back to the owner because he missed it so much.

Maybe? People have been singing their praises here since I joined.
Yeah i would personally say so, for a few reasons.

I think everyone knows Japanese quality is usually top drawer, everyone can make mistakes, but Japan's track record is pretty solid. I know that WMI/Indo quality has come forward in leaps and bounds recently, but i personally feel there's just a bit more heart and soul in Japanese stuff.

I also think that when you look at modern WMI/Indo or even MIJ prices for top of the range guitars, some of the old MIJ Ibanez and Jackson stuff is basically being given away for free by comparison.

Its also strange that used MIJ Jackson is usually far cheaper than used MIJ Ibanez. If i find a used MIJ Jackson its nearly always £200 cheaper (or more) than an equivalent MIJ Ibanez guitar.

I don't know, i don't even play Jackson or aspire to own one but sometimes i come across MIJ Jackson on eBay or whatever and im like " that's way too cheap"

MIJ Jackson was considered "second tier" to their USA stuff, while Ibanez MIJ are their top of the line. Doesn't impact actual quality but that is likely the reason for the pricing.

My Lovepedal Box of (Not) Awesome came in and I don't love it. I'm not sure wtf they did, but it sounds like it wasn't properly assembled. Since their CS leaves much to be desired, I'm eating the $225 and letting it collect dust. It certainly didn't fill the void the blue BOA I had previously filled.
