Blacked Out Kiesel DCM7. Haven't touched any of my other guitars in months.
I approve of your Mayones lol (#twinning)
Q Parts has matching knobs btw:
Also, this. Because.
curious as to whether or not those twins feel and sound identical.
Prob not due to pickups/electronics. Mine has the BKP Impulse with piezo. The only way I can explain is it sounds like an "FRFR" pickup. Very neutral and open. Perfect for downtuned (usually Drop-A) with a Kemper IMO.
My Horizon NT7B has been my go-to for metal for the past 3 years, love the thing to death honestly. I very well may just have to buy a 2nd one since its been such a reliable workhorse.
RG7620, JBM27, FR7 and a BC Rich NJ Warbeast. I basically use 'm all since they all have different tunings. Depends if I feel like playing in D or E...
My "go to" guitars change several times throughout each year. Lately my go-to's for metal have been my Hellraiser and my King V... nothing fancy/ no high dollar planks here but tbh they both play like butter and sound huge...
As far as seven's go... my DC700 and more recently, Viper7...
6 string: Fender Mexi Tele, 90s ish. Anywhere from E standard to drop C.
7 string: Music Man JP 7. Anywhere from B standard to drop F.
8 string: Jackson JS-32 8Q, F# standard to drop E.
All depends on what sort of metal is being played. If it's something faster, more technical, or has solos of any kind, my RG7421 is my go-to there, as it plays like absolute butter and just makes me want to expand what I am doing when writing.
And when I want to get downright stupid and bash out breakdowns all day long, my LTD Viper 200b baritone comes out. I have more guitars than this that all see fairly good use, but if you were to ask me right now what my main jams were, these are it!
6 string: Fender Strat or Jackson SL1, depending on the mood. Mostly the Jackson, but you can’t beat a nice strat.
7 String: ESP Custom Shop Snapper with a Floyd. It just plays better than anything else I own and is hard to put down. It’s tuned down a half step for some Revocation learnin’.
8 string: Agile Pendulum Pro. It’s the 28.6 - 27 fan so it’s mostly used for meshuggah type shiz. I’ve got an RG8 I bust out every now and then for AAL riffin.
Damn, @BornToLooze, I can feel the mojo from here.
@High Plains Drifter also left me with some unexpected and inexplicable DC700 gas.
Guess I'll throw my hat in the ring as well. She's old. She's beautiful. She's stock (I think ).
I play sludge & thrash and mostly use my Kramer for standard tuning (SD 59/Alt-8) and an old LTD H-401 for drop C (SD jazz/custom-5). Shopping around for something (used, interesting) LP scale with PAFs to swap in for the LTD. Though I love that pickup combo for downtuning.
How's this for some mojo?
I've sold damn near every guitar I've bought for the past 11 years because none of them measure up. I have a custom shop ESP and a strat that I rarely play but I keep around for the gogo bar. I can only Jake E Lee/Phil X whammy without a whammy bar so much before I need the real thing.
Was unaware that Mayones made a V model, unless it's a custom shape. I'm at work so I can't really google it, but in case, nice guitar.
It was a short-lived model.
It was first introduced in 2013 and moved to the discontinued section of their website in the first half of 2018.
They posted some photos of a Vidius made for Anders Nyström on Halloween and said in a comment that they were still available as a special order. Not sure what special orders are though since all guitars are made to order.
