    Hey Theo,

I've been a little lax in going out in the Melbourne scene lately, still people wearing denim vests with patches?

I don't really get the opportunity to wear metal band shirts so often anymore, so even though I do love a cool band shirt, I generally only buy shirts for my absolute favorite bands ever. And even then they mostly sit rolled up in a bin.

I like much better to find some good pins. Pins you can put on your bag, on your bulletin board, hats, they don't take up too much space, they aren't too overpriced, they're reallllly easy and cheap for the bands to make so the money they make back is probably decent. Pins. Gimme. Yo. Pins. And stickers.

Also I usually don't buy physical cds anymore except for at concerts. But I do still like collecting cds, so when I am at a show I like to find a little rare EP or something you don't normally see.

    + 1,000,000.

I cannot express how valuable my Necrophagist (Epitaph) and Obscura (Cosmogenesis and Omnivium) guitar tablature books are to me. Not only did it make me appreciate and understand what those bands are playing but it forced me to step up, huge f__king step, my guitar playing skills. :yesway:

Catching guitar picks/drum sticks at the end of concerts and signed merchandise are also cool but those are a lot harder to come by.

I love when pornstars get fleshlights made out of their fun bits. There's no deeper way to connect to Jenna Haze as a fan.

But for guitar based bands, tab books/official GPX files are what I'm about. I can only have so many graphic tee's, I'd much rather have music to learn.

I love Cassettes with download codes, but it's not something you see too often in metal besides Black Metal.

To me, Periphery is such a new style of music so as to be almost learning a new instrument. I honestly don't know where to begin, tunings, number of strings... Vai is the stuff I grew up on and I instinctively 'get' his stuff, certainly his older stuff.

Baseball or T-shirts, CDs, and stickers are what I normally look for/buy at shows. Koozies if they're cheap, too :yesway: most of my daily outfits include a band shirt I've gotten from a show or online when I couldn't make it to a show, CD's go in my car, and stickers are just fun to have :)

I've gotta give props to Whitechapel for all the cool bits of merch they have online though. I've got a 4'x6' flag, beer glass, and bottle opener from them :D I'll be getting a coffee mug from them next time I order anything from them too haha

You can never go wrong with stickers and pins, but a hoodie or t-shirt is always awesome.

Anything that is fairly priced. The amount of cash that bands, even established ones, want for the privilege of me being a walking advertisement for them is getting pretty ridiculous. I'm not asking for freebies, but at least give me a quality product.

Every $40 to $70 (that's right, I paid nearly a hundro for a piece of merch) sweatshirt I've gotten has either fallen apart at the seams or the printing has deteriorated to the point that it might as well of been a plain garment.

I can buy a name brand, lined sweatshirt with a brass zipper and cuffs that won't stretch to shit after a single wearing for $25. You figure that's only about $10 wholesale. I know printing isn't free either. I'd gladly pay the $50+ to have quality printing on a quality sweatshirt.

I haven't bought any band stuff in nearly two years (minus CDs and downloads) because it's all overpriced shit.
