Looking to buy a cabinet and to take care advantage of Sweetwater's current financing offer.

I was looking at5 Diezels but was wanting the opinion of the forum members. I am looking 4x12's.
    Thanks,

    Ted

Maybe the Uberkab. That's what I'd go with since its available and has close to the same dimensions. The Mills Acoustics cabs sound huge too, but it was another sketchy guy who ran off with a bunch of peoples money and they aren't widely available anymore.

Nothing really sound like a Mesa OS.
But you can try the Marshall MF400/240. It's prett rare right now but it's an amazing cab.

If you can, try the IR in the Two Notes boutique. They have a tons of differents cabs and it can give you a really good vision of the difference.

    This.

Especially since the V30s in these cabs are supposedly different than the rest.

Why not just get a Mesa cab?

I had an older Bogner- it was rear loaded and had 4 V30's. It sounded great with my Archon.

The current UberCabs are loaded wiTH V30 and g12t-75'S. in an X-pattern

Sweetwater has some good financing right now.

I know where an MF400 is at the moment, but it looks pretty beat up. They are asking $450.00

The Marshall Mode Four cabs are the most similar in dimension to the OS Rectifier cabs, but they have a different version of V30s from what the Mesa cabs are loaded with

The MF400 is g12k100. The MF280 is tweaked vintage 30’s. Labelled Vintage 30MF, the leftovers from the run were sold to Avatar who sold them as Hellatone 60L. Supposedly darker than normal vintage 30’s, with more and tighter bass. Though I don’t have any normal vintage 30’s to compare to.

I assume Marshall was trying to ape the early 2000’s Mesa sound, since that’s what I would ask Celestion for if that’s what I was trying to do.

I have the MF280 cab and I checked the measurements out of curiosity - hard to take real accurate measurements because of the rounded edges, but it was quite similar to the Mesa OS 4x12 measurements on Mesa’s site. It was only noticeably different in width, about a half inch narrower.

    Nah, there's also a MF280 which has V30 clones. That's the cab I had.

Even that one didn't sound like the Mesa 412 I had.

Yeah, nothing sounds like a Mesa 412. They don't tend to have that super-cutting high end a lot of V30-loaded cabs have. The custom-made Celesions play a big part in that.

Custom made? Are they doped, like PRS Celestions V30s? That would explain the high end cut.

Yeah, they're UK made and seem to have the high end rolled off a bit to have more focus in the lower mids.

Interesting- the Mesa site says the OS cabs are rear loaded too.

I don't thnk Celestion makes and V30's in the US anymore, or were you speaking specifically to the MF280?

Mesa uses a fixed baffle and really works to seal the cab, while the Marshall MF uses a floating baffle and works... less hard to seal the cab. So even with the same speakers and internal volume, they will be a bit different.

    Mesa cabs are rear loaded.

Yeah. The pickings are slim atm. There is Mojotone, an MF400, a Kress and a ton of 1960's. There are two Bogners with roadcases, but they want a grand each.
