For me vibrato is one of the most important and expressive techniques in the realm of rock/metal and shred guitar playing...

My favorites so far are Marty Friedman, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Guthrie Govan, Eric Johnson, Andy Timmons, George Lynch, Rick Graham, Jakub Zytecki from Disperse & Nick Johnston.

Non-metal/shred: David Gilmour, John Mayer, Joe Bonamassa, BB King.

My all-time favorite is probably Marty Friedman:

This kid is pretty beasty too:

Purely on vibrato... probably Steve Vai.

Gotta love that circular vibrato.... so smooth and consistent.

(Also Ritchie Allen from Heavy Metal Ninjas has the same awesome circular vibrato)

Steve Vai has gorgeous vibrato and something about Paul Gilbert's vibrato is very satisfying to listen to.

    Yngwie, Zakk, Petrucci.

Most guys have good vibrato, but those guys take the cake.

Hate to pick on poor Kirk Hammett, but his super quick shallow vibrato always sounded super amateur to me. Anyone else notice that?

Good topic btw, I'd take good vibrato over sweep ability any day of the week!!

Zakk, Yngwie, Gilbert for me. But I have a soft spot in my heart for Angus Young. He's my all time favorite guitar player and while he might not have the biggest or most perfect vibrato, he just fits the music perfectly. Listen to "Ride On' by AC/DC and tell me those vibratos in the solo don't make it come alive!!

SRV had one of the meanest vibrato and he played .13s!

    Then Dimebag after that
