PRS HFS in a CE/Cu tuned to C sounds like a friggin truck

D-Activator 6 sounds like a scalpel and also sounds great split or in parallel

That Wilkinson mini humbucker in my Squier Strat works for just about anything

The Blaze and Dimarzio Custom 7 or whatever it was called that came stock in 7620s: THE 7 string sound of the 90s

The Gibson 490r (iirc) in the neck pos of a SG sounds warm but not boomy, probably thanks to its position relative to the fretboard

Lundgren's M series and BlackHeaven have been my favorites for years.

I also really like the ARB Pickups Knock Rail & Song Rail that I started using about a year ago.

For the moment its the Seymour Duncan SH5.
Im slowly converting all my guitars to this pickup.

Second place must be BPK Nailbomb, only tried the ceramic version.

I find I can get on with any pickup, but that's mostly because I nearly always need a pre-EQ going into the amp, so it's just a case of slightly adapting that. Bit like Billy Gibbons with his big rack EQ, always trying to get every guitar to sound like Pearly Gates lol.

Because of that, EMG 57 bridge, SAV neck (with a PA2 to boost the output nearer to the 57), eventually will be in all my guitars. As I know what I want, I value consistency above all else.

I'm going to be the 10th person to say this, but I do like D activators a lot :D

I'm looking for a new bridge PU for my Epi LP, but I wouldn't put that one in there. I want something else, but I really don't know what it is that I'm looking for.
The Probucker 2 in bridge is very underwhelming.

weird...came into this thread totally expecting to see a wall of fishman love.

something happen while i was hanging out in car forums taking a break from guitars?
Mostly the opposite, at least that I've seen. I'm experiencing some pretty heavy Fishman fatigue myself. Barely ever pick that guitar up anymore.

Because everyone knows they're the best right?
If i had seen any other pickup than "D Activator" from yourself, i would have been swiftly reaching for the panic button.

Just so a mob doesn't appear at my house later, i also have D Activators in my VBT700 and i quite like them too 🤝

The Wolfetone Timbre Wolf and the Suhr Aldrich have both finally jumped the good old JB for my top spot for bridge humbuckers. Neck is still the Duncan Jazz, although the Alnico II Pro is a strong contender.

I was thinking of saying Aldrich. Most pickup swaps I sort of have to try to appreciate a difference, but so far with the Aldrich, 2 for 2, the difference was immediate and produced a really great sound. I also like the WCR Godwood, Dimarzio Crunchlab, and EMG 85 for bridge pickups.

Duncan SH-5 Custom

Lately though I've been trying out lower output pickups -- the Duncan SH1B 59 is cool, and I'm about to install a Saturday Night Special and Whole Lotta Humbucker set in a couple guitars. I'd like the try the 59/Custom Hybrid in a guitar since I like both of those pickups individually so much.

Gotta go with EMG 81/85 for active and SD Black Winters for passives.

EMG 85x in the bridge, 60a in the neck for actives.

Really digging the aftermath, alt-8’s for my bridge pups. Always been a huge Duncan jazz fan for neck pups
