I need to get an affordable 5 string that I can record with. I really want it to be the cheapest bass out there but not so bad that it falls apart or sounds like total crap. And it needs to be a big brand bass. Something that I can find in sweden. So nothing like rondo. help would be appreciated!

Cort 5-string action bass, you can find one at blocket from time to time.

I like that one, but what do I know... I don't play bass  the neck is satin panted and rules, it's damn comfy. Sounded fine to me too  but I like the pbass sound better than the jbass sound.

I have one in flat silver, and it's a great bass. It sounds good, plays great and it's very comfortable.

I played a Yamaha - RBX375 and I loved the feel; I can't remember the sound. I have a 5 string OLP flame maple top bass and I love it too and it was CHEAP!!

I guess it is difficult without knowing what is actually available in Sweden. I also endorse the Corts. If you can get a used A-5 or B-5, that is the best. I have an older B-5 that has the Mighty Mite pickups and the wenge neck is the best I have ever played. Many of these carry Bartolini pickups.
