The Halberd and Iceman are the only things Ibanez makes that are worth anything. Literally everything else on the entire roster can be thrown into a burning woodchipper
I actually quite like the S and SA, they have some more character to them. I hadn't looked far enough back in Ibanez' history to see the power, that's pretty cool, too!The (IMO) coolest Superstrats that Ibanez had are either long discontinued (The original Power shape... No, not the Skolnick one with the huge erection) or they don't do shit with it except budget guitars (The SA). And with the SA they didn't use an ungodly thin neck profile.
Hahahaha! My bloody eyes from seeing so many, my brain from hearing/reading about them and their SuPEr ThIn neCKs constantly, and fortunately not my wrist from buying into the requirement of an uncomfortable neck to play fast - not that I can play fast, maybe I need a Wizard neck? 🤔
The Iceman is a genuinely fantastic shape. God forbid Ibanez make use of it and build out an earnest line of them. Best pump out some more generic RGs, instead. 😂The Halberd and Iceman are the only things Ibanez makes that are worth anything. Yep. That's exactly what I wanted to point out. It's not just about guitarists' ego for doing leads and stuff, it's about literally stepping over everyone else to "cut through".The real issue is a lot of guitarists and musicians are “me me me”. All instruments should fit in the mix. The band should sound like a band not X number of people playing something together. All depends on the view of the band members and who calls the shots.
If compared to those posted afterwards by STRHelvete and drb, I'm an unsullied being of light, indeedIf thats a hot take though, damn.![]()
As long as JHS doesn't make a video I think you're okayYo guys, pipe down on the old Ibanez clout, ive not finished buying yet......

I took some flak a while back for suggesting that it's really the drums that carry a great mix - whether it's live or recorded - and I still believe it. Guitars supply the flavour, but drums are where the quality is at. Crap guitar tone can make an interesting mix, but crap drum sounds make a garbage mix.Get a great bass tone and kick tone and everyone’s gonna think its the guitars
While we're predictably hating on legacy brands, why does Fender get let off the hook so much vs. Gibson?
There's not a single crime Gibson gets motherfucked for that Fender hasn't done.
From tons of lawsuits, to price hikes, to years of shoddy quality, to buying up smaller brands just to run them into the ground or dissolve them, poor worker practices, near insolvency, etc.
If I wanted a different heel and slight tummy cut I’d grab a prs 594. Which I did, and sold for les paulsGibson keeps putting out inferior instruments due to tradition. And traditionalists keep playing them because, well, tradition.
Once you try a LP HP Modern, Axcess, or similar models, it's difficult to go back.
For me, one of the reasons fender gets a pass is that they did actually run Jackson, Charvel, and EVH well. While we're predictably hating on legacy brands, why does Fender get let off the hook so much vs. Gibson?

I was bummed about SWR going away. They made some great stuff... It would have been interesting seeing them develop more into the lightweight class D amp market.
