I cannot decide if I want to get my Kirk Hammett on or not during this solo. Which one do you think sounds better?

I vote wah. Sounds more interesting.

... but maybe a bit less, or a more subtle wah if you're not sold on it. I never really use a wah so I dunno what options you have to tweak, and I dunno if you've used a vst and automated it, or used a pedal or something, but if you've got a setting somewhere to reduce the range or the intensity of the effect, I'd give that a shot.

I'm using a VST.... I also don't use a wah very often(or own one  ) so it's something i'm not an expert on. I did a shootout of all the wahs that Amplitube offers and this one sounded the best with the Morley being a close second. I might go back and re-do the automation so I can mess with the sweep range a bit more.

*edit* Went and tried the Ibanez wah VST again and changed the sweep range....yeah I like that a lot better. Not so much of a sweep. :yesway:

IMHO the wah gives the solo nice touch, but it loses of a lot of its clarity.
As the others I'd vote for the Wah-version, but try to make it a little more subtle.

If you are doing it in a DAW, maybe you should try to do it in parallel, such that the guitar signal is 50% non-wah sound and 50% wkirk wHammett? I dunno if it will work, but since the possibility is there I think if could be a nice thing to try out.
