I really try to not to self-promote on this forum but I figured I'd share this since its a tribute song for a band a lot of people on here like. I sometimes write a riff or lead that sounds too much like a band so I don't use it in my original music. Since Bodom are one of my biggest influences that happens a lot and I ended up writing a full song from all the ideas. It references a lot of songs from their discography and I got Janne's actual keyboard patches which really brought it to life.

I hope you guys enjoy it! I've been sitting on this for a long time but I really needed to do something other than work all day long with Covid right now so buckled down to get it out. Guitar is my Carillion Polaris 6, tone is STL Tonehub and drums are some sort of Toontrack combination.

Wow, that ending was sick! And the whole thing did indeed sound a lot like CoB.

Awesome stuff. CoB was a long time favorite band of mine that I kind of shyed away from in recent years, but I still get excited when I hear those first couple albums. This song honestly sounded better than anything they wrote towards the end of their time.

Pretty cool! Although, I'm not sure if lake Bodom actually has any shores. It's a pretty tiny lake that any normal person could swim from one side to the other.

Thanks so much guys! Glad you are all digging it!

Here is the artwork if anyone wanted to see it better. It was drawn by @ernunymous. He was imagining how Bodom's 11th album would look along with "The Final Chapter" title and I thought it fit my song title well.

It is! My brother pointed out a bunch fo Nightwish and other keyboard centric bands that used the same bell sound in their songs.

Thanks! I did up as far as Relentless Reckless forever.

Cheers! I like a few of the later albums but like you said those first few albums are incredible. I can still listen to them start to finish.

I had another working title "The Picnic area of Bodom" so maybe that will be tribute number 2. I've always loved the title of DOOM's second Episode "The Shores of Hell" so when I went to pen some titles of the bodom title song that one stuck.

Really good stuff, definitely recognizable but couldn't hear any ripoffs from COB.

Thanks! I'll get working on it some more. I've a bunch of tribute style songs in the works. Its been fun to get into the zone of a particular player and try and write a song with their style and note choice.

I set up a bandcamp page where you can listen and download it for free:
    https://lorcanward.bandcamp.com/releases

I also made a guitar pro tab if anyone wants to learn it or analyse parts a bit closer:
