I saw Gibson is releasing a standard greeny for around 3k. Curious how the qc will be considering how the mustaine sigs went.

I will indeed have photos to post here.

If I see one in store I’ll try it for sure, but my nearest dealer isnt the “fancy” one of the two stores in town (inventory matches the area so to speak lol).

My buddy who grabbed my ngd has had a few CS Gibsons and said its a nice one. Excitement mounts.

Anyone played and are able to compare between the Les Paul Standard Ts (2016, 2017) and the current Les Paul Standard 60s? Any big differences in quality or feel?

Sold a Heritage H-150 early last year and it was probably my worst guitar-related decision. Regretted selling it after one week and now Heritage prices have went up the roof. But yeah, now searching for another singlecut.

Always a lurker - posting pics of the heritage I sold as tax and for my first few posts :)

Just saw the new Adam Jones epi sig at a local guitar store yesterday. A VERY solid guitar with impeccable QC on it. It's finish is very timeless and classy, and it's frets, to my surprise, were awesome, and not gritty at all.

Excites me more. If this is how current epis are being made, then I think I should be in for a treat for the new JJN's sig, whenever it comes out next.

My mate in Aussieland scored one, paid AUD 3k for it. Yikes. Then put on another AUD 600k worth of mods (Tremonti neck pickup, locking tuners, Graphite nut, ABR bridge, CTS pots). Granted he got it from Japan so there's shipping and 10% Aussie duties. But in a way that I totally should not feel, I'm glad I only paid something like AUD 1,000 higher than his total cost for my Gibson AJ Standard, even if some of his mods were subjective and unnecessary like the pickup, I prefer my Gibson's relative value proposition.

@budda you should try an Edwards!
At the store yesterday, i was A/Bing my Edwards with 50's standards and 60's standards. The neck sits PERFECTLY in between the two necks. QC is impeccable too. The store owner was also impressed with the Edwards compared to whatever was in stock.

But holy hell, this '$100 USD' price hike on Les Pauls now has regular standards costing over $4000 CAD, plus tax!
additionally, that also pushes the Modern, and Customs to a higher price bracket. Thats...a super hard sell :-/

They were $3899 last I saw.

That white edwards lpc is still available, but I already grabbed the LP I wanted.

Aria pro ii's were supposedly to be super high end guitars in the time when Gibson QC was questionable at best, especially for the 70s era.

I've only tried one Aria pro ii from the 90s and thought it was a phenomenal guitar! And that above seems classy! A bit of a specialty guitar though. Don't see them come up too often, so if you ever want to resell it, it maybe a challenge?

Few posts back I talked about this Heritage H-150 that I regretted selling...

No good used Heritages near me but I found a 2017 Les Paul Standard T at a good deal - pounced on it!

Honeymoon phase right now, everything is great except that the BBPro Bridge that I didn't really vibe with, will play around/EQ with it for a bit more before I think about a pickup swap.
