Since there's no volume control on the loop, I don't believe it's a thing
JSX and XXX you don't even need a patch cord, the loop volume knobs affect the amp anyway with nothing plugged in
if you have a footswitch you can use it as a volume boost for solos
to answer the thread, I almost bought a 5150 years and years ago but couldn't jive with the clean channel, was thinking about getting a 5150 and a JC120 but just bought a used Mesa F50 instead
nowadays I just have enough amps, but I'd probably grab a head if I saw a one for a good price
I own the modded 5150 used on this album... the other guitarist used a modded Mesa IIRC.
Not sure if that's a good thing as I've never listened to the band/album. But it is a BLOCK LETTER and it has that low serial number tho.
I remember having an amp or two that had level controls for the loop. I had a JSX combo many years ago. I guess that’s one? And maybe a Mesa? Tremoverb combo?
Which was one of the coolest features of the JSX. It came in handy many times for me. I do miss that amp
Didn't know patching the loop was a thing. I run my shit through the loop anyway so I'll never know.
I remember the level control in the Laney VH100R worked as a master volume as well when set to insert. I couldn't even play the thing without it. Loudest amp I've ever heard
I wish the JSX 212 had MIDI. I've always had a soft spot for that amp.
