This is no lie. No trolling. Straight up honesty!
welcome to the club
You’re not wrong! When you get a chance put a Tube Screamer before it, curious what you think of that. Guitar —> TS —> MT-2, tame settings on both. Screamer no drive level at 1 o’clock, pull back the MT-2 level to 1 o’clock no distortion.
That terrible terrible pedal through my bass practice amp is what made guitar awesome for me in HS. It didn’t help that my amp had no mids or highs whatsoever. None of those knobs do anything. It’s all just crazy gain/feedback and Spanish radio stations being picked up coming through a speaker. Good times.
That’s funny, as when I first had one back in ‘02, we ran it thru a bass amp with our guitars as it’s all we had. We loved it!
our current ep was done with the TC eyemaster, and our next ep will be with the metal zone boosting our 5150s. Killer tone.
It was my 1st distortion pedal and ive always liked it. Though ive never tried it as a boost and havent owned it for like decades. Ive a tually had my eye open for a cheap one to pop up for boosting purposes
I actually forgot I used a metal zone on this short-ass grindcore-ish ep I released (solo project) last year.
metal zone > 5150 > 2 notes captor (can't remember the IR atm ... either the brownyback or the mesa os 412 - I think the brownyback cause it sounds amazing)
It was mine too. My band mate from back in the day still swears by it.
