This, rackmount amps don't seem to get anywhere near the amount of love they deserve. That's one of my favorite things about the AxeFX, I just stick it in my desk. The Katana would be a great candidate.

    1. A Mesa Boogie 4 channel rack preamp, simliar to a rackmount Roadster preamp
    2. A Mesa Boogie version of a VHT 2-50-2 power amp still with class-A modes but the old version still with changeable 6l6/el34 tubes swtichable per side.
    3. If Winged-C tubes were made again and were still built the same.
    4. An Ibanez guitar I actually want to buy that doesn't fall short in some deal-breaking way.

A Fractal Audio box that starts at $500 and then you buy amp models and effects like DLC. I’d buy it and then purchase the 3 amps I’d actually use.

You know I actually like this idea, given how Fractal has like 300 amp models and most of us only use like 10 - 15 max.

A decent Floyd 8 guitar that, A) costs less than $3000, and B) doesn't look like ass.

I wish they would have kept those on the market instead of only the preamp versions. I'd plug them in just to save wear on my glass for practicing.

Maybe you're right. Now that I look at them again it was AMT I was looking at too. I thought they had them out at one point and when I went to buy them they were no longer available. I certainly saw pictures of them (maybe prototypes?) Maybe I stumbled on a non-functional web form being developed? Those are them though.

Ironically, this is kinda-sorta the reason why I got the Preamp Live pedal. I had absolutley NO interest in all of the effects & whatnot of the GE300 (as well as the price tag), so a pedal that had nothing but amps, a dozen od pedals and 2 noise gates was exactly what I was looking for.

As for buying 'individual' amps, buying individual 'skins', weapons, etc.. in video games seems to be extremely successful, so there's no reason why it shouldn't work for something like that.
