I started a thread April 8, I hope that's ok. I only glued a few blocks of wood together at the time.
Here's Omzig's as well. He's got a rad idea.
Rules question: does shipping cost for parts count toward the total?
I would say no basically because of the guys that live no where near places that they can get decent part/materials.
Agreed. I'll add an amendment to that.
Oh man, under $200? I think it’s time for a pine build finally.
"-Builds must be under 200$ USD or comparable to current Exchange Rate as of the “End Build Thread” dates."
Shouldn't it be at the time the items are bought? I bought ~$190 of stuff in £, but if the pound weakens (yay Brexit) I'm suddenly over budget retroactively.
I'd say you're correct. I read that line to be in reference to the total spent on the guitar by the deadline, not whatever the exchange rate is by that time. But I'll clarify.
Count me in!
Hopefully I can finish it in time
Well, I can't finish it in time. Thought I could cram in this final week, but won't have time for that. Good luck to everyone else, I'll beat you next time!
I too have to throw in the towel. I never got the motivation to decide which build to do, and then took on a couple foster dogs. Can't wait to see everyone's submissions tho!
I need to crank away, but I think I'll finish on time. In my head it was ending in the 26th, not the 23rd. Still counts if it's by end of day, right?
I am out. i've kind of fallen out of love with building for the time being.
No way I can finish mine by deadline, too much other stuff going on without a minute to spare.
That's too bad! I've always liked your work. I hope it catches your fancy again in the near future.
I'm experiencing the opposite, I think I may actually finish a few projects that have been sitting around for years.
This is why luthiers are so slow...buncha procrastinators and quitters!!!
Or maybe we bite off more than we can chew. New builds always look tasty.
I had convinced myself that I had finished mine and just needed to update the thread. Then I remembered that it doesn't currently have a backplate or truss rod cover. Guess I know what my weekend plans are now!
