This is the best comment so far

im thinking of mono, gruv gear or kavaborg
there are many custom gig bag case builders here in the philuppines but for me maybe mono is the best choice without any hassle

The MONO is absolutely great. I couldn't be any happier. It's a bit bulkier than the GruvGear "2", but I think the pockets are better. Worth the extra money.

People are just being weird. It’s like they think a gig bag is a plastic bag or a potato sack.
I’d rather use my gig bags anyway.

your issue is you need to figure out how your distributor is packaging these things.

if the guitar original comes with a solar branded hard case as part of the price of the guitar it’s very unlikely that the distributor is going to sell you the guitar without a case.

now if the distributor is packaging the case together then you have some wiggle room. You probably won’t get the guitar any cheaper but you can ask them if they can substitute a decent gig bag since you are going to buy one anyway.

Yes maybe some people dont do local gigs or even using gig bags , the local gigs sometimes a block away from my house or far away, the gig bag is the best practical case to that situation,I already ask them what your saying, just waiting for the distributor for the go signal to try have appointment

I also think people think of gig bags like rosewood fretboards or Bolt on necks. Yes, they can be cheap, but there are excellent example old trem, as well. I would never even call the nice ones "gig bags", but instead "softshell cases".

The thing is, it's the form factor that counts.

I used to gig in the Philippines. Do I understand OP to prefer a gig bag over the hard case.

If it seems the Solar guitar is hassle to you because you don't need to spend the extra valuable pesos for the hard case, then maybe it's time for you to look for other options.

But... you would probably be the first person or among the few in the Philippines to own a Solar, so maybe it is worth your investment plus the matching case. I'm not sure howbit goes in terms of resale value with the case because used guitars in the Philippines are not fair.

Things for you to think about. Good luck!

As someone who's also living in the Philippines, I can confirm that gig bags are more ideal for commuting since most of us don't have our own cars. I should consider getting one too because I only have a softshell case for my Ibanez and while it does protect it very well, it's a pain for my own arms to carry it around and it's pretty bulky.

God I love this place. We have four pages of comments and a hilarious meme on whether dude should buy a case or not. Classic.

We have motorcycles and ride bikes to add but we have car so harcase will be ideal too, but the culture here is musicians and guitarists have used the gig bag as the norms and usual containers for their pedalboard and stuff

Why is it taken up so long for my post to be approved in Solar Guitars Official Community FB group?
