I'm not saying I do. I play only at home lol. But you're crazy if you think people don't and that it doesn't affect people's purchasing decisions.
It's cool how you keep shifting the goalposts and accusing me of making arguments I'm not making. Not as cool as that top on your ESP though

MT is right though. It's not intelligent behavior, but it's not altogether ignorant either.

Imagine placing bets on a race and your choices are Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, Gleeble-Globle, and (no name given). You're probably not putting money on the last two based on brand reputation alone.

The ultimate carved top superstrat is the ESP Horizon by far, and i m a hige Horizon geek. But the if Solar launches the carved top with a non reverse headstock, i ll really be tempted to get it.

The carved one looks really nice. He is really concentrating on the whole "take something that already exist and make it more pointy/metal" shtick. There will be import versions for sure and I have no doubt that they will sell well. I wish he would use a more diverse list of finishes though. Most of them either look boring to me (white and black is just safe tbf) or outright disgusting (cannibalismo, green burst).
That white X looks really tasteful but personally I am waiting for the RR Vs that will come some day. We cant have enough Vs on the market

Agreed, I'm not even a RR guy but considering what they did with the X shape, a Solar RR would probably be sick

I'm too lazy too look for myself, what are the Solar neck profiles like? They have anything like a wizard?

Warning, never played one myself, but according to Ola they are based on a Wizard but slightly thicker and a bit like a c shape.
But neck profiles are really hard to describe and personally I would describe the wizard-I more c shaped but I think a lot of people would disagree so best bet is to try it.

The complaints of it "looking cheap" based on stock, flat, internet pictures is quite harsh and disingenuous.
It looks much nicer actually being played, with proper lighting -

There's a difference between thinking it looks cheap and thinking it looks cheap for a £3k guitar.

Other brands have produced high-end guitars with better specs (e.g. Gotoh hardware & DiMarzio/SD/EMG/BKP pickups) and more premium finishes (e.g. figured maple tops), at a much lower price point.

Something is worth whatever people pay. If hes getting orders of this at £3000, then its worth £3000 irrespective of what other companies are doing and at lower prices.

I don't want to defend that the premium variants look cheap compared to the import guitars, but the price makes sense despite the specs when we consider that this is a low volume series, made in France. Only through the mass can not be generated profit (number of units is usually less than 10 so far) so the price must be correspondingly high and saved where possible (import pickups, generic hardware, etc.).
I personally would not buy this series, because they also look too much like the cheap Indonesian imports, but the price is justified for what you get unfortunately.

IF he's getting orders at £3k (I can't see this selling too well at full price) then it only shows that some people don't have the sense to compare with the wider market before pulling the trigger.

If multiple other companies can put out better guitars for less money, clearly these are overpriced - whether people pay for them or not.
