I've been totally broke for about 2 months now...I had a seizure (long story there) and dislocated my shoulder, which I had to then get surgery for. I'm out of work until my shoulder heals, which is about another 3 weeks or so. And I wasn't able to qualify for unemployment because I'm on medical leave from my job, and I haven't been laid off or fired...so in short, I'm SOL until I get my tax returns back or get back to work, whichever comes first. :(

Ain't got no money, a little in debt, can't find a job that pays anything, living with parents. Yeah, I'm broke.

On the bright side, I have lots of guitar stuff that I couldn't really afford.

Lately I've bought too many CDs and made myself broke again.
I got paid today, but I owe my mum about 1/3rd of that money and the rest goes towards paying the phone bill, some food for myself and........probably more CDs:ugh:

Pick me! Pick me!

While I do have some saved money, it'll fund a rather expensive course I'll be undertaking in the next months. I've been broke since I decided to apply for a civil servant job. Excellent sallary and overall cool job (prosecutor), but insanely hard exams to get into

Yep, I'm fucked. I've got a £30 phone bill at the end of the month, £26 for a guitar I put on finance and I still need money for fuel. I'm on job seekers allowance but I haven't got my first payment through yet. I'm selling my guitar to some one on Monday so that should help for a month or so, Just got my fingers crossed that I'll have some work in a week or so with my uncle.

It's my own damn fault (and it was well worth it) but I've been spread entirely too thin over the past 2 months.

Currently, I'm in the middle of a 2 week period in which I've had to stretch out about $60. :noway:

Next week though, it's all gravy. Pay-day, annual bonuses, tax refund, sister paying me back a ginormous debt she owes me, etc. Thank fuck, cause the stress is starting to really wear on me.

wow seeing this stuff really proves that the economy is going down the shit hole. im glad im still 14 and live with my parents, thank god. takes about a year to scrounge up $600-$700 for a new guitar, but im alright with that. i have $14 bucks in my guitar fund as i just recently bought a new pickup. and i owe about ummmm say $8000 in rent to my grandmother, although i dont think a 14 year old should be paying rent in the first place. and i have negative $20 in my bank account which is one of her sub-accounts. Thank god i at least get $600 a month.

Damn! I have a feeling there's going to be a Blues revival, because if there was ever a perfect time for one, well...

Y'all speaking the "empty wallet" dialect from the "struggling to keep food on the table" region. I know the lingo all too well, I'm afraid.

There's a term for such a financial situation, and the term is "Brazoke". Meaning, you're as broke as Brad Zoke. And everyone knows Brad ain't no penny pincher, he's just broke as fuck!

I'm broke, really broke. I haven't been able to get myself or my family anything nice for a while now and it's depressing having to say no all the time. Being the glutton for punishment I am I have agreed to look after another preteen, that one isn't 100% yet and I can not say anymore about it at this time, it means I am either going to be broke for a while or really broke for a while  :ugh:

im 16 so im probably too young to know what broke is, but i personally have no money in my wallet at the moment, which is a downer to me.

My girlfriend's family has it bad though. Her parents are divorced; her dad is a cop, which is notorious for having small paychecks, and her mom works for edward jones, but makes just enough to be over the poverty limit. on top of that, they have 3 girls going to the same private school, which costs 14,000 a year per student (they are obviously on major financial aid here, but that still doesn't help anyones money situation). And on top of all that, almost every relative on both sides of the family is filthy rich. Her grandfather was the guy who built the Budweiser horse and buggy thing. Another one of her uncles was one of the first to invest in microsoft.

Not asking you to feel sorry for them, just thought i would use their situation to try to relate to everyone else here.

well im 17. i dont/cant get a job for not having a license (my fault really but i NEED to focus on school, and i have nowhere to go anyway so fuck it) my birthday just passed so i have/had money. i blew alot of it on a new pickup, tu-3, new pokemon game, more pickups, pickup installment, and other shit i cant remember. but i still have $220 on me, and selling my gibson explorer soon hopefully for around $825, and my half stack for $500 hopefully so ill be a king for my age soon (doubt itl happen tho). but then around summer IF i pass math (which would be a godsend) i get to get a new guitar, so ill be getting a loomis hopefully. and i have shit (prolly around $200) in my savings for college. and im graduating next year... so i guess im doing good for a 17 year old. but if i had bills to pay i would be FUCKED. hard.

I've been a grad student for 2 years, I don't even remember when I had a 0 as a net worth...after a while the number on my credit line is just imaginary. It's mostly my own fault though, have all the gear I want, I drink like a fish, just got back from a week in New York (Opeth and High on Fire = worth it \^^/), and am planning to head to Europe in a few months to visit a friend.

But, I'm sure I'll get a great job in the fall, right? That's what I'm banking on anyway, haha.

For the record this thread should really apply to those who responsible for roughly all their own bills, bar those who have a significant other to share the responsibility with.

I know I was just about broke when I was 15 or 16, but I certainly wasn't paying my way in the world, at least for 100% of things.

I don't mean any offense, I'm just saying there's a difference between being a broke "teen" and being a broke "adult". :)
