...and now the f%^*g block is too wide, so I have to enlarge the trem rout without destroying it. Should be fun!

The block actually has functionality that I want, or I'd just use the standard Floyd block. It looks like the rout was cut for a standard Strat, so a normal Floyd would *just barely* work.

It's OK, it's why I didn't finish this one before assembly. I'm sure some other surprise it waiting for me, like the other day when I discovered I couldn't use a pickup ring because the routs for the tabs are too big and show when the ring is in place. Not a big deal, but kinda sucky.

So, we're on to phase two:

Since I took this pic, I shimmed the nut (treble side is ALWAYS too low with Floyds), changed out the pickup screws and got their height set correctly, and set the intonation (which was amazingly on target). Next up, wiring and strap buttons, and then to set up the trem stabilizer...

So, it's "done" for the moment:

Black bar and noiseless springs arrive tomorrow, along with my Allen wrench holder.

As you can see, I have done two things that are unpopular here: 1.) I Beyonce'd the pickup, and 2.) the Floyd is a mile high:

Looks good! So you like the Floyd set up a bit higher on the body and are a Beyoncé fan? I’m down with that. My first non recessed floyd equipped guitar is due to arrive tomorrow. We’ll see how I like it.

This thing plays killer. I didn't have to touch the frets, either - Musickraft did the one right. I have a 500K pot in it, but I may swap that for a 250K since the top end is a bit zing-y

Look good man, simple but effective. I prefer non-recessed floyds, so I bet that thing is killer. :yesway:
