... and I already documented it all, thought I might as well share it on here:

    So this was the idea:
Hardtail strat, matte white finish, 3PMN, 3 Singlecoils.
I made a mockup in the Fender Builder:

The hardware partially came from my box full of stuff I got some time...
Planet Waves Tuners, Göldo Bridge with Graph Tech Saddles, Electronics.

Pickupwise the only thing I knew was, that I still had a Lil Screamin Demon lying around which I was going to use for some tests but in the end kept it where it was, since it sounds quite good in there.

The wiring is a basic strat wiring with a 5 way switch, auto-split in position 2 for the bridge humbucker.

    This is where I started:

I got the almost ready alder body from a shop in Germany, the neck came from a luthier who's active in a German forum where I am a mod and already posted all of this.

A first mockup shot of the body with pickguard:

And here's the electronics cavity, already covered in copper foil for shielding:

Later on in the build process, I was watching a music video by Brutal Truth and realised again, that their guitar player was using a damn nice stratocaster in it as you can see here:

BRUTAL TRUTH - "Sugar Daddy" - YouTube

So I thought why not wet the wood sometime, see how the grain turns out to be.
But first, I had received the neck, took some pictures of that too:

Aaaand with some hardware on it:

Also, that day I filed a little channel for the bridge ground into the body:

Also got the first parts of the electronics done:

I oiled the wood for the first time the day after, beforehand I had sanded it down to 180 grit sandpaper as far as i remember... this is what it looked like, I used linoil for it:

Again, a mockup of the process thus far:

Also I polished the frets using steel wool.

    Before:

    And after:

    Nice n shiny!

    And here's the complete thing:

Ended up with some fender SCs for the middle and the neck position, this baby plays like a dream, sounds like a strat should sound.
Next to my SC 607 B it looks kinda tiny:

    So, speclist:

Fender scale, 3 piece maple neck with a skunk stripe, bolt on
Two piece alder body, hardtail string through
HSS Wiring, HSS pickups with an SD Lil' Screamin' Demon at the bridge, Vol Tone Tone
Planet Waves locking tuners (the auto-trim ones)
Göldo bridge with Graph Tech saddles
    Warwick Straplocks
    Floyd Rose String Retainer

Actually it's already finished, I just had to go through the post by editing it once or twice.

    Thanks a lot!

Thank you very much guys :)

I've had it in Drop C a long time with some 11-56 D'Addarios on there, at the moment I'm rocking 10-52 Ernie Balls but I've been thinking about some 13-56s or so, playing it in C or D Standard...

That was the reason I went for a natural oil and wax finish instead of the matte white!

If any of you is interested in further details on anything or wants some more pictures of anything just hit me up!
Also feel free to ask any questions.

    Thanks again!

@ Dooky: Maybe you should look into the thread again? Could be, that the Dropbox server was experiencing issues...

    Obituary is in D.

BTW, nice build, I completed a Tele build and it was satisfying. Especially when it turns out to be a really nice playing & sounding guitar!

Sooo I've noticed that I never posted any pics of the guitar in its final state.

Changes: Different pickups. Singles out of a '74 Fender Strat, sounds beautiful.
Plus I am now rockin' some 10-52 Ernie Balls on it in Standard E or Drop D

    Anyways, pr0n:

    Looks great!

Why did you choose a FR string retainer over string trees such as the ones from Graph Tech?

I get that question a lot. Simple answer: I think it looks nicer, also the extra pressure und the wound strings makes them sustain in a different way which I really like. Hard to describe, but there really is a difference. Probably the angle in which the string is put after the saddle makes it sound a little snappier.
