    Hi guys, Ist post here

A few days ago I tried out a Ibanez s771 and I loved how comfortable it was to play. The only this is, is that I'm not a huge fan of the looks. Is there anything else similar, either by Ibanez or another manufacturer?

Ibanez S771PB Guitar in Transparent Gray Flat

    Regards

    Welcome to SSO, friend :welcome:

Any Ibanez S series guitar will be like that, unless there's something about the general design that you don't care for. There is also the Jackson Super Lightweight Soloist (SLS) models. They're not exactly the same, but they're similar and they have the coolest (imo) Jackson headstock

Edit: There's also the Ibanez EGEN (Herman Li sig model). I actually think the high end model is pretty cool.

Thank you for your reply :yesway:
im not a a fan of the general look of the s series, looks a little boring if I'm honest. I'm looking to spend around £400-£500 so the herman li sig is to expensive.

I've been looking at the Jackson sly (slsxmg) online and it does look nice, no one seems to have it in stock though.

If your willing to go used, an older Ibanez Roadster/Roadstar, Radius, the JS series.

But are you looking for something thin and non-super strat?or thin and super strat?

    SG?

EDIT: Looking at your first post though... SGs certainly are slim but they're not necessarily comfortable, the shape can feel weird.

Thank you guys for your replies,

I don't actually know anything about Lag guitars and I've never seen one in person. As for the Roadster, an old teacher of mine had one and it did play great. I am looking for a super start rather than an LP shape.

I actually had a Gibson SG jr and I really regret selling it

I used to have an Jackson SLSMG, and it was very thin. So Jackson SLS is probably good for you.

I'll tell ya what though, I probably saw one of the thinnest, coolest guitars I've seen in a while the other day and it was a DBZ. Imagine a guitar thinner than a saber but it's double cutaway gibson shaped with stain finish on some kinda spalted top. The body was actually rather large, but so very thin, the guitar was well balanced.

edit: I believe it was a DBZ Imperial!

ALSO I would like to on record and say SG shape is the best ever!

Check out Parker guitars but again the styling may not be
to your taste. I'd always be for playability and tone over
aesthetics when it comes to guitars. I can live with any
type of looks if the guitar plays and sounds great.

The S series really are crackin' looking guitars imho and for
between £400-£500 I'd be looking at a used S540 LTD over the
S771 every day of the week.

    I have 2006 LTD mh-1000, and it's extremely light.

Yeah your options are pretty limited, sans the few suggestions already mentioned..

Personally I love my S, but the plastic selector cover kills the looks for me. That's really my only gripe.

    Bit of an update.
The wife and I went into town and I decided to have another look at the Ibanez, also to see what else they had. Well the ibanez came home with me :hbang: She needs a good set up but I just loved how she felt

    Sorry for the crappy pic

Dude, for YEARRSSS throughout the 90s I hated the look of the Satriani Ibz S's. I wouldn't even try to play them because I hated how they looked. Then about 10 years ago I tried some Prestige Ibz S...and it changed my life. Pretty much all I have is S's now...oh and a Parker Fly Mojo too...so another +1 there...
