    Talking about those 6505+ combos?
If it's in good shape and the conversion was done well, I'd grab it.

All the "conversion" entails is pulling out the chasis and making a new shell to stick it in and screwing it in. That is what I did with my combo (see my garbage pictures).

I don't know how much the full combo runs used around your area but here in Ohio $300 (used) is a moderately good price for the combo. To me it doesn't sound like a terrible price, maybe not a steal unless the case he made is extremely nice and well done.

For that price I'd say go for it, especially if you already have a cab to pair with it. The stock speakers in those combos really don't do the rest of the amp justice so this solves that problem.

$250? Assuming it doesn't need any major work. Hell yeah!

Get the combo, no question. Can always run an extension cab with it, plus have a combo when you don't wanna haul the cabinet around.

If its the 212 combo, buy the head. I would rather move 50lb + 60lb than 105lbs. Two light trips beats one heavy trip.

I'd keep the head and buy a used marshall 1960a cab.

I had the combo and converted it to the head. Even the 112 is heavy. If you have a cab I'd buy the head. Else buy the combo.

Mine had the effects loop mod when I got it and I modded the input filter to be the same as a SLO, which made the lead channel a MONSTER.

Its a nice amp. Great for the money.
