Shaller Vs. OFR trem

which trem is better? i am building my own guitar and cant descide between them

I like both. I would probably lean towards an OFR, though, since that has been what I've been used to for the past 15 years or so.

Schaller are very nice as well, but I think they have a little bit of a different sound than an OFR.

OFR is you can since its manufacturing process is better.

I have and love both. I actually prefer the Schaller. I like it's looks and the little bit of warmth it adds to the tone better. True the Floyd is a bit better made but either one would last 20 years so that is really a non-issue.

The only real issue with the Schaller trem is that the intonation screws have a tendency to strip. Other than that both are great trems.

I have a Schaller on my Charvel. Totally solid hardware. Love it.
I think iirc, they were actually manufactured in the same German factory as the OFRs.

Schaller has always had smoother operation in my experience. I can't speak for a tonal difference between the two. I think most Ibanez trems are better than OFRs also.

I prefer the OFR, since it's construction is a tad better, although there's really not much difference...
