If you're into bands like Carnifex, Thy Art Is Murder, Infant Annihilator, and Ovid's Withering, then check this out. Must be one of the best deathcore albums in this year.

I honestly have a difficult time calling this band "deathcore"... they have way too much going on in their music to be deathcore lol

Anyway, it's gonna take a LOT from another band to win Album Of The Year over "Reclaimer" for me. Have not stopped listening to it. Although, The Black Dahlia Murder have a new one coming this year, so I may need to hold off on the "AOTY" stuff haha

Just because something has a lot of elements to it, be it complex riffs and layering doesn't mean it isn't deathcore. It still fits all the genre tropes and even though I'm getting slowly more and more sick of genre labels (whilst doing it myself right now) this is very easily identifiable to this one.

Also I'm really enjoying it and I'm enjoying Buster's mix on the album, they're getting better.

So what are they? Death/black/symphonic influenced modern metal?

I just mean that when I hear the term "deathcore" I don't think of big solos, complex riffs, interesting song structure, etc. They know how to write a good breakdown, but that's really the only deathcore I hear.

To me, they just sound like a death metal band with very cool influences. I know they cite Dimmu Borgir and The Black Dahlia Murder as big influences.

Cinematic, artsy, harpsichords and pianos, what more do you need?
Probably on my most played (their entire discography that is).

Wow, I guess I need to listen to them some more. Great stuff! The solo on that latest song was a bit underwhelming though.
And yeah, I wouldn't call this deathcore either (although there are elements of that too).

I was fortunate enough to see Shadow of Intent play on tour with Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Fleshgod Apocalypse. They absolutely blew me away, especially the vocalist. So raw but professional sounding.

Just found this band. Instant fave for me. Has a lot of the qualities I love about TBDM, and I don’t just mean them borrowing their singer.

the new one sounds awesome. I always liked the music, but the old album sounded so flat.
