They could've done every theme here with a more refined and more catchy approach. Now it feels just like a mashup of different ideas that has kind of an "ironic" touch.
I read somewhere he blew his voice out a few years ago, live footage still sounds great though. In a recent interview with kerrang he said they were dead against using autotune unless they wanted that specific effect (like on the track "lost"), and they wanted to move away from the traditional M Shadows "snarl". I dig it, sounds similar to his vocals on The Stage which were very good. That's pretty much what I was thinking too, there's a song in there somewhere for sure but this sounds like they threw a bunch of scratch tracks they all recorded for the drummer to track with or something lol.
I admittedly don't follow them nearly the same as I once did - do his vocals always sound this way now? Again, sounded like a scratch track where he wasn't super committed to the performance.
M Shadows is hard into the crypto/NFT/AI shit so I legit wouldn't be surprisedDid an AI bot write this?
Saw them open for Metallica right before COVID and it was a pretty great set. Hadn't followed them in years even at that point but I was happy to see them still holding it down.I read somewhere he blew his voice out a few years ago, live footage still sounds great though. I feel like this is supposed to be funny in an incredibly cringey way. Like, in an "I have the mentality of a 9-year-old" kinda way. Unfortunately, Avenged Sevenfold are neither clever nor capable of writing good songs, so here we are, with this monstrosity.
The city of evil album exists. And it’s fucking amazing.
