    RIP Sean. Damn man.

This one hits pretty hard. Cynic and Death have been such a huge part of my musical journey, it sucks to think the mind behind some amazing drum patterns and iconic songs won’t be here to create more memories.

Much love, respect and thanks to your contribution to my musical life.

Carbon Based Anatomy had some of the best drumming I ever heard. Such a sad time for prog.

RIP to one of the greatest ever. Focus and Human were life-altering albums for me.

    This is 2008 or 2009.

The importance and influence of this man's playing and imagination cannot be understated. Grateful that we have so many recordings featuring him that are preserved for posterity's sake and equally saddened by the fact that no more of them will ever be made. I've been listening to bands he played in for over half of my life at this point, and I was stunned to hear of his passing. Rest easy, Sean.

One of the most inspiring, creative and musical drummers that heavy music has ever seen.

    RIP, you absolute legend.

This would have been exactly what I posted. Not to mention the drumming on the guitar solo.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I'll always remember listening to Traced in Air for the first time after seeing them live and reliving that level of awe. His playing was just incredible. RIP

That's really sad news. I remember watching the video for Lack of Comprehension and thinking that Sean was the perfect drummer for that band.

    RIP.

Kelly Schaefer commented on his post Saturday saying he heard "heart failure." Absolutely sucks. Sean was an incredible musician. RIP.

Carbon based anatomy was the first song i ever heard from cynic, and it blew me away. Great influence, all their albums, also loved kindly bend.

Really loved his drum work... and so young. I always hoped he would team up with Paul again to make a other one!

Touch me more then i expected. Only 10 years older than me, make you think it can be over before you realize and still so many thinks to do...

Also really hope he and Paul sorted things out before he had to go...

    RIP Sean

At least Neil had a bit more time. Not making it out of your 40s is way, way too young.
The greats seem to be dropping like flies out of nowhere all of a sudden. No sir, I don't like it.

He's still the only cat the I've heard be a metal drummer and incorporate jazz playing authentically, as opposed to the other way around. Shame we won't be hearing from him again, his influence on the modern metal scene is huge.
