So, got a Mach 7 a while back and it rips, killer guitar! I work for Xotic California building vintage inspired S and T shape guitars. Everything is painted with nitro so I figured screw it, lets refinish this badboy. This thing is DUNKED in poly like all new guitars are, I already got most of the neck to bare wood because thats what I'm in to, but god it took forever. So instead of doing it to the rest of the body which would take... an eternity, I just got rid of as much black as possible and got to painting. Gonna take a bit to dry because Nitro doesn't ever 'dry' really, it just... cures. With the weather we are having in So Cal it's probably gonna take close to a month, which is perfect because I have a SD custom shop Jupiter 7 coming in about that time frame. Here's some picks!

"BUT IT'S SUCH A NICE TOP?????"

Yeah it is but it's a veneer, talked to a homie at Schecter and it's paper thin, I don't really care HOWEVER I will be aging it to show a little bit o' flame, just a teeny bit. Is this the first nitro refinish Schecter Banshee? Potentially, which is fun

That'll look awesome once it wears through the nitro though, very much a fan of modern guitars with nitro finishes!

Had one of these (FRS 7) thought the fallout burst looks fantastic!

But seafoam green is just as good :)

How long did it take you to remove the poly? Any tips? Was planning to strip some 3mm thick poly off one of my guitar and oil it, but worried that i'll mess it up...

So with this refin I didn't remove the poly, I just sanded through the burst which was pretty close to the top of the clear coat so it still has poly. The last refin I did was an ESP standard series Phoenix. It had so much poly in it and it took forever to remove. Heat gun, a good putty knife, and sanding blocks are the way to go!

Well I was able to get it done! I got excited and didn't really wait for the paint to fully dry, I don't really care and it made it easier to scrape the binding, I'll have a close up tonight but I snagged this pic of the quiver yesterday. Really stoked on the look and like seeing the flame vaneer in contrast with the seafoam

Man that looks fantastic, and I normally don't even like distressed looks. Such a unique guitar, HNGD!
