hi guys i read that there was a mistake on ibanez when they released the s7320 with ZR trem and the trem radius was 430mm and the neck radius was 400mm causing issues.

when the new 24 fret version came along did they fix this mix matched radius issue or is it still present on the newer s7420 ZR as well?

It's the other way around. The bridge is 430mm, neck is 400mm. Just shim the saddles and you're good to go.

    thanks fixed it ,
thanks just corrected it . from what i understand the s7420 with 24 frets still has a 400mm fretboard radius so i dont understand why theyd make a new neck for it and not fix the radius issue but add 24 frets. unless the trem is 400mm now? hmmmmm still researching.

id just be really bummed out if the 24 fret s7420 has the same radius issues as the s7320 before it. seems like a dang shame ibanez letting a mistake happen twice.

    This is absolutely nothing new.

The MIK/MII stuff always had/has a mismatched radius.

They only made one type of ZR at a time and built it to be compatible with the MIJ 430mm radius necks vs. the 400mm cheaper necks.

Really, it's a difference of ~1", plenty of guitars ship with mismatched radii, often more so.

The fix is pretty straightforward, just shim the outer saddles and you're done, if you can't get it set up just right. You should be able to get <2mm action without matched radii, you'll just choke when bending greater than a full tone on some strings.

So is it confirmed that the indo 24 fret s7420 still has a mix matched neck and bridge radius like the korean s7320 before it ?
