    does anyone a diagram?

and i'm thinking about getting one of these, but i'm used to buying complete retube kits from Eurotubes, but they dont have them for the powerball, ive emailed them with some questions about special ordering a kit but just incase that doesnt work out i wanted to know some more

i guess my question is what tubes would be the best to put in this amp for a metal player? and what tube should i use for V1?

and more importantly, should i really even buy this amp? or maybe something else in the $2000 and under range?

you dont really need a kit, just 4 12AX7's and 4 6L6's or whatever it takes. the 6L6's will be a matched quad, you just drop 'em in.

what does the powerball do that your 5150 wont...? sounds like you dont really need a new amp to me

well, i like the 4 channel feature, as opposed to 2, and i also like that it has a good clean channel, and i've heard that the distortion is just as brutal as a 5150 and doesn't have the honk to it that the 5150 does

i'd be keeping the 5150 btw

its more like 2 channels with 2 voicings each and shared eq. Dialed in right the Powerball's distortion rips. Running those two together would make baby jesus cry.

Simply said there are no tubes you could put into the Pball that will make it less metal, even a 12au7:lol:
Tung Sol in V1, always, for me atleast.
Its a good amp, but as always try it out first, and any other amp you can get your hands on. If you try them all out you will know which is right for you.
