I purchased an ibanez rg757ahm ngb just like this one here rg652ahm-ngb (6string) but 7 string. I was under the impression the case had a "prestige" cut-out in it but when I collected it from the shop where I left for setup it seemed like I got a bog standards m300c as the one in the picture with nothing but the ibanez cutout. I'm unsure if I may just be mixing up with a case from a previously owned ibanez rg1517 which had both team j craft & prestige on the case. Could anyone with an original rg652, 752 or 862 help confirm? or perhaps is there some ibanez customer support email I could ask?

My 2015 752 came with a case inscribed with Prestige, identical to the one in your linked pic.

I'm a little confused.

So you brought the guitar that you already owned, which was in a red lined TJC case to get set up and when you collected it they gave you your guitar in a blue lined M100C case?

If so, yeah they goofed up. Just call the shop and say you got the wrong case back, happens fairly frequently.

Or did you buy the guitar new, and when it arrived it was in a blue lined case?

The case supplied with this guitar should be a red lined TJC "Prestige" case, which is just a slightly different M100C (original latch style). Both are made in China by TKL.

I have seen distributors swap out M100Cs when the factory TJCs get damaged in shipping.

I think you can tell by the exterior texture if they all have red linings inside. If it's a blue lining, then it would not be the case that the guitar would have come with from the factory.

In the 2000s, they had a sort of vinyl coating on the case and the case had the Team J Craft logo on it, then they switched to a rougher matter plastic texture in 2010s. I think the current cases have this sort of texture (looks like faux carbon fiber?) on it. In any case, I think the cases that you can buy separately have a blue inside lining and the graphics on the exterior are different (e.g. they don't have circles in the corners like in your picture, they are more like rectangles). Someone else can correct me if I am wrong.

Old Team J Craft cases from the 2000s - feels like a vinyl coating. The inside is red.

Previous generation of M20RG cases - notice the switch to the textured matt plastic texture. The interior did not change.

Newest Cases - looks like faux carbon fiber. The inside is still red

The cases you can currently buy separately look like this - they have a blue lining and different latches and another storage part next to the headstock cutout.

The exterior graphic is also different

The older ones had the latches you will find on the cases that come with the Prestiges.

Sorry folks. I was out for a few days and forgot to come back here. Essentially I bought an rg752ahm from store (musicstore.de) but I took it to a local store where I live for a setup. I was under the impression the case had "prestige" and "team j craft" on it, but that was likely because in a not so recent past I owned a prestige that had it, and likely I just got confused. Despite owning the 752ahm for more than 2 years, it's been sitting in the box in a wardrobe for most of that time. @KentBrockman solved this mystery for me! Thank you :)

Yeah, Prestiges and even non-limited J. Customs (e.g. RG8570Z & RG8520) come in a "standard" case that doesn't have "Prestige" / "Team J.Craft" / "J.Custom" embossed on it these days.

I couldn't tell you exactly when this changed, but I have several Prestiges from the '00s with the old vinyl-coated "Prestige" case and several newer Prestiges (including a 2017 RG652FX) with the faux carbon fibre case like your your RG752AHM came with.

If you sell the guitar in future, the red interior should be sufficient to avoid any questions about whether it's the original case.
