If you love the XXL more, the V2 will probably get you more money.

I feel like the V2 will be better in a live environment though.

I agree. The V2 has a lot more power and the 3 channels are pretty sufficient. I used to own a T2 and it was a LOT better than the Peavey (I also had a Supreme XL at one point). The XXL is great for jamming and/or recording but for playing live, the Randall would bury it alive.

Do you have to sell anything? If yes, sell the one you like less. If no, keep them both.

I’ve spent considerable time with an XXL and owned a V2 and honestly prefer the Peavey over the Randall. If you’re going to keep one, I’d sell the Randall if I were you (you’ll get more). If not sell both and get something you know you’ll like

I just play at home so I generally don't krank the volume to much. The V2 is definately the louder of the two.If I do sell one then it opens up the possibilty of buying some different gear. What is a fair asking price for the V2?Canadian.

How much you thinking of selling either for? I'd be more interested in the XXL.

I never understood the lust for the XXL. The other guitarist in a band I was in had one, and I always despised the tone. It never kept up with my recto at gigs, and just had a "cheap" amp tone to me. Maybe they work for bedroom jamming?

I wouldn’t say there’s a lust for them, (if there is, I digress) they just happen to be one of the few SS amps that actually sound killer...great bang/buck amps, they take boosts well...and realize most solid state amps will have trouble keeping up with a 50-100 watt tube amp -let alone a Recto! As far a SS amps IMO it’s right behind a Randall rg100es or Ampeg vh140c...

Well im in love with the peavey transtube special 2x12 (ultimate death metal!!) which as far as i know is the same as a bandit which as far as i know.........is the precursor to the xxl. The xxl being at the top of the transtube spectrum.

Well pretty sure I will sell my V2.For what it is the XXl is a killer amp. Will it ever sound as good as a 2000 dollar tube amp, nope. But man for a solid state amp, it sounds so good.Would love a tube amp again ,but in all honesty I just jam at home and really don't need one.So what is a fair asking price for my V2?Maybe I can upgrade to a better cab once I sell it.

Probably not as much as you think. Check kijiji for your province, get a trade value from l&m against something (that way its 80% of what they can sell for, thusly realistic) and realize its a very niche amp.

You may be sitting on it for a while.

I'm just dropping in to spread some love for the Peavey Supreme 160, if I'm not mistaken it's the precursor to the Transtube and XXL. I grabbed one after hearing early Dying Fetus/At the Gates featured it

Drop the mids on them and you've got some killer death metal tones, and you can throw in an HM2 to really muck things up. Nothing wrong going solid state if that's the sound you dig.

I'm confused. If you have both amps, why do our opinions matter??

If you need to sell one, then keep whichever you like most.

If you like both, keep both.

Keep both. Both are capable of some pretty unique tones which is actually an advantage at the moment when everything is a 5150/V30/SM57 clone.

"Both sound really good, but I'm looking to maybe still sell them anyways to get the amp of the month. What say you, Sevenstr0ng.orgz?"

    I say keep both.
