hey everyone, I'm finally looking to upgrade to a tube amp. I really like the RG1503 for it's chunky aggressive tone however I wanted something warmer and tighter. The 1503 does have a "huge" sound with an overdrive and that's what i want in my next amp. I just need tight, heavy, ballsy and warm. My style of playing is thrashy with heavy palm muted breakdowns so I really need that chunk and thump. My budget is around 1500 soo please send some recommendations!

Man, tight and ballsy in many cases sacrifices warmth to some extent. A dual Rectifier can do it, but you're definitely going to want a a TS style boost in front to get it tight. A 6505 can do heavy, tight and ballsy, but not sure I'd call it warm. Diezel Herbert is way above your price point, and a Bogner Uberschall probably is too. The good news is, with a dual rec or 5150 family amp, you'd have plenty of funds left over for some pedals to try and balance it all out. The classic setup is good boost pedal like a Maxon 808, MXR 10 band EQ for the loop, and an ISP Decimator G String to keep it all quiet. With a 5150(5150II,6505,6505+) you can get the amp, pedals, and a fresh quad matched set of JJ 6L6's to boot.

I would say an EVH 5150, a basic 6505, or used modern dual recto boosted to hell and back.

Or if you want something a little different from the norm I would say an orange dual dark 50 boosted to sh!t. There's one used on reverb that's just a little bit out of your budget.
