Hope everyone is ok and safe.

Now that everyone has time. I want to get some new ideas on what you guys do when you pickup your guitar? for me
    - work on a new riff or song and record those ideas on my Daw
    - Learn new songs or jam on my favorite songs
    - Practice scales/modes/excercises and noodle w/metronome while watching a movie or the news

After two weeks quarantine and doing this. I feel i should try new things.
What else do you guys suggest that i should work on to improve my songwriting and guitar playing.
    THanks

I think I've found learning other music to be the best way to improve and get your own creative juices going.

Sometimes it seems counterproductive, once you achieve a certain level of playing you might ask yourself "why don't I just write my own stuff?"
And the best answer to that I've found is yes, but do both. By learning other music, you'll stay practiced, expand your repertoire and absorb some of the creative value of the things you are playing to use in your own creativity!

Whatever I feel like. Playing is not my job when I do so in my free time, so I want to enjoy it.

If you aren't enjoying it, what's the point?

Didnt really answer the question did I . Mostly Im recording random stuff over garageband drum loops, and playing bass as well. I thought I would be learning songs, but mostly it's just enjoying the sounds I make.

Re-read the answers to every thread you ever started and actually apply them to your guitar playing instead of starting a new thread.
