    Axl Rose's band. Duh.

So far, from what I've heard, people are saying this is halfway decent. Haven't heard it yet, but we'll see.

If Chinese Democracy is the last album ever released I still won't buy it.

The album's actually pretty damn good. I don't know if it was worth waiting 15 years for, but it's a damn good album with some solid tunes, and a distinct Thin Lizzy meets NIN influence throughout.

I didn't really like GnR at their so called peak. So I think I'll be giving this a miss

Were you alive during their peak?

There has never been a better debut rock album than Appetite for Destruction.
There has never been a better rock band than Guns N' Roses at their peak.
    They changed everything in 1987.

I'm not arguing they didn't change the scene for the better, and I'm not saying they were bad. I just never really got in to them, their were a few songs that I liked but Appetite for Destruction was never something I loved and listened to front to back.

And to answer your question... no I wasn't alive

 - I thought so.... I was 17 when AFD came out....I still listen to it...front to back all the time. Total Classic.

Despite all his douche-baggery....Axl is one of the best rock songwriters ever. I'm looking forward to BUYING this CD....if for nothing else..hoping he will continue to write and release music. And, maybe Slash will join him again, if he can see a $$$ possibility.

If only the original line-up could put all the bullshit aside and reunite for a record... I will buy this record just to see what the 15 year fuss was all about. But a record from the oringal line-up? shit, I would be first in line.

While Chinese Democracy isn't a horrible album, its very overproduced and sounds like its trying too hard to be modern and new, yes Axl's voice is still there but the rest sounds very...almost linkin park ish in a way

Interesting point though...Traced In Air and Chinese Democracy both took roughly the same amount of time to make (give or take)...you tell me which one was worth waiting for the most.

Just listened to some of it and I actually really like it in parts, far better than any GnR I've ever heard before - has some crazy riffs. No doubt the usual fans wont be happy as it's rather different, but I definately think it has something original to offer.

I'm sure Ron had nothing to do with that ;) Seriously though, his licks are sick and probably make the album, Slash wishes he could play like that.

Seriously though, GNR should have died off 15 years ago. I can't help but think this is Axl's feeble attempt to regain all that money that went up his nose and in his veins. :noplease:

    Interesting views here.

It doesn't really make me want to rush out and buy it.
