How about a thread for albums that could be a score for the current state of affairs? Anything dark, foreboding, atmospheric, horrifying, or just plain epic. Stuff to listen to while we stay inside and hope it all passes.

DISCLAIMER: Some albums may or may not be political in nature, but let's keep any discussion about politics or "the c word" in the other thread. This thread is posted in the general music discussion forum for a reason. Anything not pertaining exclusively to sick music to watch the world burn too can go elsewhere.

Now that that's out of the way I'll start off with an obvious one to get the ball rolling:

Thier whole discog could fit, but this one just had the vibe.

The wall on which the prophets wrote
    Is cracking at the seams
    Upon the instruments of death
    The sunlight brightly gleams
When every man is torn apart
    With nightmares and with dreams
Will no one lay the laurel wreath
    When silence drowns the screams
    Confusion will be my epitaph
As I crawl a cracked and broken path
If we make it, we can all sit back and laugh
But I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Yes, I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Yes, I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Between the iron gates of fate
The seeds of time were sown
And watered by the deeds of those
Who know and who are known
    Knowledge is a deadly friend
If no one sets the rules
The fate of all mankind, I see
Is in the hands of fools
The wall on which the prophets wrote
    Is cracking at the seams
    Upon the instruments of death
    The sunlight brightly gleams
When every man is torn apart
    With nightmares and with dreams
Will no one lay the laurel wreath
    When silence drowns the screams

Here's to hoping that the actual apocalypse arrives after Ulcerate's new album "Stare into Death and Be Still". Also, on a semi-related note, check out Lars von Trier's film "Melancholia" (2011) for some great depiction of depression at the face of the inevitability.

    Cattle Decapitation - Death Atlas

This is about as topical and apocalyptic as it gets. Listen to “Bring back the plague” and read those lyrics. Savage.

Always felt Altar of Plagues had an apocalyptic vibe to them, especially their first album:

    .
Also this, but maybe in a more beautiful way:
