    Powered by Omega has introduced a new amp, a single channel 100 watt amp called the Iridium.

    I don't have a link, but there is a sound clip on their facebook page.

    Anyone here have experience with Powered by Omega?

    This amp is priced right now at $1799 with free shipping until Sept 1/18, I won't be able to snag one by then but I would like to know if anyone is going to snag one here.

    I totally want one hahah

    Until their customer service improves, I want nothing to do with their product. Unless you're an artist, they seemingly couldn't care less about meeting the deadlines they set. They regularly lie to people about when their product is shipping, it's always "next week man, next week we swear" and they gave a friend of mine false tracking info when he asked why he'd been told "next week" for the third week in a row. On top of that, they rebuilt his cab because they gave the first one to an artist without asking or telling him at all.

    Another friend didnt get the speakers he ordered because Omega "knew better" than him and gave him speakers he didnt want.

    This is the video they posted of the prototype

    I have one ordered with a few changes (KT77 tubes, different front grill, stained shell).I should have it around September 1st is what they are saying for all the pre-orders. I know early one before they moved to Detroit area they had some issues with delivery times but my 2x12 and 1x12 were delivered when promised.

    @oracles

    I've heard rumblings of that sort. I won't do anything until I've heard more clips and seen more than a prototype, Michael has been very forthcoming with info so far. I dunno.

    @Aso

    I saw that clip and it's why I'm posting this! What front grill did you order and what stain? I'll wait until you get yours! Will you make a video?
    It sounds very much like what I want, even just by that phone clip.

    Mine will be black stained box with a distressed red face that matches my cabs from them. It will also have the square cutout like the Obsidium they posted on IG that you can see the tubes through.

    I will see if I can get a video made when I get it.

    Omega Iridium #1 will soon by at my house. I went with KT77 power tubes and had the headshell matched to my Omega cabs.

    Omega really does have a great aesthetic. I also love the simplicity of a one channel high gain amp. That clip above sounds great.

    Was Kyle Rhodes of KSR involved with the amp development? I think I read that somewhere but now I’m doubting myself.

    I have heard the same thing and have thought about asking them to confirm if that is true.

    Interesting that they have a channel volume on a single channel amp. Cool looking amp nevertheless, I've always felt high gain amps should be one or two channel affairs as the low to mid gain sounds are never as good as the high gain stuff and vice versa on many other amps.

    Maybe so you can push the preamp more and the power amp less for different sounds, and vice versa? Although I suppose the gain knob kinda proves that wrong.

    If the design is good, the low to mid gain sounds will be fine.

    My Peters FSM was basically a 5150 on steroids, but roll the guitar volume or the gain back and it would do clean or blues quite well.

    Oh Man!

    Saw this on Instagram, looks amazing man! can't wait to hear it! I'm going to order one soon! I think I'll try 6550's if Mike can do it!

    Cheers!

    I know someone asked him about KT88s and it sounded like the only thing that may be an issue is spacing between the power tubes. I wouldn't be surprised that 6550's would be possible.

    Out there, somewhere
    If it has a loop that is usually because the channel volume acts as a send volume and the master as a return volume.

    The spacing looks good inside the headsehll, I think 6550's will work just fine. I'll see how it goes though.
