Came home from work, my wife is watching this show. First, it’s terrible. Second, is it intentionally a copy of The Office?

First season is rough, 2nd gets better, 3rd through 7th are where the money is; and its better than the office, don't @ me on that.

They just had a Halloween party. How much more of this bullshit until it gets funny?

Totally agree... I dont remember just how long it took, but I remember not liking the show at first and then loving it in later seasons.

1st off, fuck you for not liking Parks and Rec. 2nd, it definitely takes a season or two to get rolling, just like the office did. It was originally supposed to be a spin off of the Office but then they changed the premise but kept the "stare into the camera/talk to the camera bit". I greatly prefer Parks and Rec to the Office. It's consistently funny in the later seasons whereas the office was hit or miss/cringe humor most of the time.

:agreed: It does get shaky at season but otherwise agreed. Thankfully S1 is short and everyone sans Mark Brendanawicz starts really getting in the groove on S2.

Season 1 is ENTIRELY rough. They took a while to really “figure out” the characters.

Just keep at it, because it’s one of the funniest shows out there in my personal opinion. But when I re-binged it last year I did realize that S1 was like a 6/10 on any average episode.

    Just believe.

Episode 9, season 2, still not into it. I usually go in and out of whatever she’s watching, so I’ll get to see if it gets better.

I’m gonna blame being bored with it on having just rewatched a bunch of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Ha! I gotta say I was reluctant to start watching it, but the wife suggested we give it a try ... but when the last show of the last season was over I was truly sad. IMO possibly one of the all time best [modern era] shows. Of course YMMV. ;)

I started watching when it first aired and lost interest a few episodes in. Later I started at season 3 and it was great. I’d recommend the same unless you can’t understand things without introductions.

Season 3 is up there with the best seasons of the office. It gets progressively shittier over the subsequent years as every episode becomes more and more just cutesy bullshit with characters being in love and/or planning weddings or whatever as opposed to ever doing anything funny anymore. They even started doing that with Ron Swanson by the end!! Like, the last couple years I just wanted to fast forward every scene with Ben and Leslie. Nauseating.

I've always found it to be a snooze fest and totally unfunny....until I had a gig and got to work with the local Parks&Recreation people. Then it got funny :)

Can I just jump to season 3? I just watched the pilot episode and that was the third stupidest shit I’ve ever seen right behind Gummo and I can’t name the other one.

Yeah you can. You'll probably catch on to whatever you missed quickly.

And I join in everyone else that says Parks & Rec>The Office. Ben Wyatt's character speaks to me as an accountant

Maybe if I’d seen P&R first, I’d think it was funny. Can’t shake the rip-off feeling.

Yes, I did. I’d forgotten what I saw of season 1 by the time I restarted it at season 3 and I was never lost.
