Ozzy hasn't toured standalone in years, and won't be moving forward (only one-off festivals and special occasions). Doesn't hurt that he teases retiring for good every few years the last decade or so.

Again, no one said he's not popular with folks who already are fans.

I dunno, I kinda like the new song, catchier then anything on Black Rain IMHO. As to Ozzy generally, I just sank nearly my entire paycheque into the new box set he's putting out, so it's safe to say I'm still invested.

No, but what was said, and what's the crux of this initial argument is that "he should just retire"

Why, if he doesn't want to? I'm still waiting for a solid objective argument as to WHY an old road dog should stop doing what he likes to do, and never stopped, even after as you mentioned he thought he would. Keep in mind that "Because I don't like his new material" or "Because his new albums suck" are not even close to solid arguments when you take the whole picture into account. Those are subjective arguments, and have no real bearing on the totality of it.

If I didn't already have the first five on vinyl I'd be tempted. It looks freaking killer. I'm a sucker for sets like this though.

Post a New Album Day when you get that beast.

I never said he should retire, so I don't know why you're arguing with me still.

Well you initially quoted me on my response to some dude saying he should retire, so I thought you agreed with him lol.

Nah dude, let him do his thing.

I just thought using YouTube views as any legitimate metric when someone is already famous is silly. :)

Fair enough lol. Though it is the only metric available at this time, and it kinda surprised me how fast that number is going up.

I think Ozzy was a true workhorse of a musician. He made people stand up in the crowds during concerts and really worked hard on putting on a good show. He wanted to make the audience happy compared to some other bands today that just go through the motions & collect their paycheck at the end of the day. He sure was a hardworking talent despite his heavy drinking and use of drugs. He survived!!!

Ozzy is not the issue on this imo, not having Zakk write the riffs is the issue. Props to that hipster new guy who lured him back and inspired, but it's not really my thing with those mediocre Sabbath riffs. Give me the Wyklde Sabbath riffs....or actual Iommi riffage.

The big YAWN. Retire already. Christ. Frankly, everyone 50+ in rock/metal needs to hang it up. Music isn't a fucking social security office.

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, the song blows.

I would think you were a big rock fan of the early days judging by your avatars. It's too bad that you think the song blows but what can I say...I Don't Know!!!:dio:

My interest in anything Ozzy has put out musically stops after the first six studio albums. The reunion album with Black Sabbath (13) is decent, but not on par with their 70s material.

Well I certainly like his '70's material with Sabbath. I also liked him with Randy, Jake & some Zakk but I haven't followed his later music material...so I guess I'm somewhat stuck in the past myself.:)

You're comparing Bruce and Rob leaving Maiden and Priest to Ozzy changing guitar players? Ok.

I love all Sabbath and everything Ozzy did up to and including Ozmosis probably, but this sounds like ass, no two ways about it.
