It's amazing he went as long as he did. He says he's looking for ideas on how to perform without touring. He should just phone it in like my idea in the Vai bitchin about money thread where everyone just goes to the venue and watches on a screen on bluetooth, jk. that's be lame, but people are lame now and can't stop the phone addiction so it just might work. He could innovate at the same time using my idea. I want a finders fee for my new way breakthrough idea. haha.

I saw him many times with Sabbath and his solo act and of course he kicked ass every single time. All our idols are dying and all the new idols kinda suck. The human race will never be the same or as good as it was. : (

Nah, you're just old. Welcome to life. The older you get, you watch the world you know die around you while the new one takes over. It happens to everyone. The new stuff doesn't suck, it's just not intended for you.
With that being said, I've pretty much subscribed to the idea that Ozzy is dying and it's only a matter of time. Dude's old and worn out and every month he has some new problem. I'd like to think that him trying to get back to being a rockstar was what was kicking his ass, and by retiring he'll get some strength back and finally be able to relax and enjoy his success...but then again there's that thing where when old people retire they die shortly after, as if working is what kept them going and now their body realizes it should have checked out ages ago so it does. Hopefully he'll hang around for longer and get to enjoy his grandkids and stuff. I believe Kelly just had a baby. It'd be nice if the kid gets to know Ozzy before he goes.

So long, Oz. It's great to go out on a high note with the entire world sending love and support. Very few people get that in life and I think he's definitely earned it.

Well, it's a wonder he's still alive, let alone still performing.

He's had a good run, I hope he can adapt to retirement and enjoy whatever's left for him.

It's pretty sad how because of the fact that this tour was billed the "no more tours 2" tour, that even though, a few months in, he stated it wasn't really his last tour, to a lot of people, no more ozzy tours doesn't seem like breaking news.

I was obsessed with Ozzy in HS, to the point where my teachers called me "Ozzy." The man had a good run.

Edit: I take it all back. This is about Ozzy. Don't wanna derail.

:) if I could go back in time, in hs, I would prefer to had been known as "chick corea" or "allan holdsworth" rather than "Ozzy." :)

A lot of my heroes are gone.

Can't go on forever, and going til 74 like he did is a hell of an achievement. Happy retirement Ozzy!

It's a shame I never had the opportunity to see him live....a true legend.

Ozzy was biting the heads off bats and snorting lines of ants. Just be grateful you had as much time with you as you did because he was on self-destruct mode for most of this life. Thanks for the killer music, Ozzy. You nailed it.

What really sucks is that Sharon didn't stop propping him up on stage 15 years ago, and we only got 1 more badass Sabbath album instead of 2 or 3... and that they're still just sitting on unsurfaced recordings of Randy.

Still, the guy is a legend and has contributed to music more than just about any other living musician from his Era. Kick off your shoes and relax your feet, Ozzy - you deserved it a long time ago.

I've seen Ozzy so many times. Was hoping for one more, but since he was so influential to me (and my guitar playing) I can do nothing but respect the man

I saw him at least 10 times. Last time was one of the final touring ozzfests and he was in really rough shape. It was hard to watch. On that note, I feel bad for anyone who never got to experience a proper ozzfest. Great memories!

Currently, Robert Mason is fronting Warrant, but if you ask nicely, he might go off stage and sing an Ozzy song for you.
